Why put every rep through selling skills training if they are getting rid of us?

In order to survive in the corporate world, get used to nothing but constant change and learn to role with it. “AI” is projected to gobble up 14 million jobs in near future. Walk you town’s (“town,”) and note the business still standing. Shipping business, hair & nail salons, barbers, restaurants, coffee shops, car wash, laundry mats, tattoo shops, gyms, theaters bars, all “service” type or entertainment……retail or “brick & mortar” business dying or dead already in most metropolitan areas. Grocery industry, “look,” will change, which is why one chain is buying the other, in order to compete with the Costco’s/Walmarts/Amazon , they’ve trained the population to work for free already, with “self check out. Change is the only thing constant!!

I’d leave it off the resume lol. It’s the equivalent of graduating from the Walmart academy

You should take this training because when they move on from you , you may have more marketable skills.

Because sales tanked and you’re obviously the problem. It can’t be their own decisions

Kellogg reps don’t hate their jobs! Company cares about its peeps! Did mondelez reps have the option of keeping their cars? Nope! Kellogg reps got 3x the retention bonus of they stayed. Dignity

As a Kellogg employee( former Mondelez) I can vouch for that the cereal company did go to about 100 stores per rep. About 8-10 stores a day for them , about 20min a store. I ended up on the snack side of the company with 28 Walmart stores. Some have about 50 stores that are on the grocery store routes. Expectation is 5 stores a day at 56min per store. 7.5 hrs from time I get to first store to time I leave last store which works out to a 8 hr day. Personally, I love it and have no problem staying around 40hrs per week. The company did say after a trial run with the new route configurations, they would look at if any changes need to be made. I do expect the cereal routes to be changed and maybe the grocery routes being trimmed a little. Kellogg’s is very focused on work/life balance and if there is a group of people struggling with working too much I believe it will be corrected. I cannot say enough good things about this company and I’m only 6 months in.

Well think about it. There’s far less reps then merchandisers so it’s cheaper for the company to train us reps so that we can then train the merchandisers ourself and then bye bye next year for us

I asked the Kelloggs rep if his schedule was "doable." He told me no. He is GPS. He is required to visit each store and stay for 25-30 minutes trying to sell in displays, put stickers on stuff, etc. There are not enough hours in a day, a week, a month, or a year for him to possibly do the job. It doesn't matter whether they are DSD or not, they're getting screwed, and they're miserable. Nabisco is next.

Kellogg’s reps don’t visit their stores more than once a month, they aren’t dsd. When they went warehouse they let go of nearly all reps except one to two per team, and they covered the whole team territory but only to take pics etc. Mondelez knows the plan, su-ks they sc--w people so badly! Glad I left when I did, back on my feet plus a a lot! Not to mention they abusive treatment came to an abrupt end!

Yes. I believe nabisco will do the same. I don't think all reps will be eliminated but half will next april.

I just ran in to a Kelloggs rep. The company just made a big change where they separated in to 2 companies/units. He went from 22 stores to 141. Another guy went from something like 15 stores to 70. They are dying out there.

Yes I could see a system similar to kellogs. Reps may have 40-50 stores next year

They might keep a handful of warehouse reps around after the big change. They are taking notes because you’re effectively auditioning for your jobs
