Its really difficult to focus not knowing if we will be here in a week or not

If it were me, I wouldn't wait to see if I get terminated. I'd just start taking my personal items home now, plus, while you still have access to the work laptop I'd also print out key data you might need in the future such as health account and 401k info, HR numbers, friends home phone and emails, etc. That way if / when you get terminated - you won't have to scramble around gathering important info at the last minute that you might need in life after ford.
Until all engineering and software jobs are in LCCs, then there will be layoffs. Read the tea leaves, no one is safe regardless of past cuts.
It's how musical chairs is played...multiple rounds. In the past, it used to be that after a round of layoffs, you could relax for a couple of years, but now even if you don't get laid off, there's the threat of the next round always looming on the horizon.
