Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

When is the next commission payment?

I assume that those of us that were affected will get paid for the sales we made in July, right? Is that a bad assumption?

I think that is determined by state laws regardless of what the separation papers say. If you were a remote worker (as most of the most of the folks riffed were) check what your state laws are when it comes to what you get paid when laid off. In CA they have to pay you all your remaining PTO vs in TX an other states you loose it (like the separation agreement says). In CA, commission is considered wages, so my understanding is that they have to pay it out. Look read you local state laws.

If you signed the separations papers you can’t dispute your final check.

Anyone know what phone number or email I can reach out to with regard to disputing final commission check? I think I will be getting shorted by $40k or so due to a glitch on a booked order. My old manager is no longer at Dell so I don’t know who to call.

I should add that you'll get paid not only for July but anything that shipped up until your last day on 08/11. They will take any August shipped orders and apply it to your 1st half quota (or however you get paid) It's the least they can do even though they put a section in the severance agreement citing they don't have to.

Yes. It will come Sept 1 (or 8/31 for EMC folks). Confirmed with HR.
