Nonsense, stock price is driven by earnings. Nobody cares about this node or that. Show me products with good margins, cut your damn operating expenses and start generating profits. This isn't a startup son.
It’s not about being good or bad idea. It’s about “can Intel deliver”. The tech game ended long time ago, since 2010 all playing on Wall Street. If Intel can deliver 4 in 5 it means they can execute, this is most important for market. No one care if this will be tech breakthrough or not. No one care if we will make money from it. It must happen that will provide stock price boost, investors and clients to IFS.
The thing is that if you are not near mfg/ifs you can pack your bags because you will be fired in few quarters.
Look for a job because 2024 budget will be lower than 2023
5 nodes in 4 years is a bad thing... to many generational changes results in factory underloading and pre-production charges... It drives the customers bat sh-t crazy because they the PC market is commoditized so they won't release a new set of boards every year...
