Harrisburg, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia areas will remain with Verizon. Everywhere else will be sold to be Brightspeed.

"Why do you think they shut down the fiber build?"

Stupidest move, showing a lack of technological knowledge, and HVs first lie to Wall Street.

Soon they will be at the mercy of all of the companies carrying their traffic.

There really needs to be an IQ test given to executives before they are hired.

It's all going to Brightspeed. Verizon can sell FWA instead of fios and it doesn't cost as much. Why do you think they shut down the fiber build.

Verizon should just buy Brightspeed and let their senior execs run the company much like GTE did when they purchased better managed with better benefits Contel.

The current crowd really needs a good-sized 12 steel-toe up their rear ends and out the door and back from whence they came.

What a clown show! Can they do ANYTHING that is responsible or profitable?

I love this issue because they actually had a couple of fixes for it but were not the 'right' technology. MCI and their millimeter waves could have fixed this issue promptly but the Know Nothing from the North had a much better idea. MM waves for 5G.

"Ah, No!"

But it is amazing how well that microwave Internet in the Marriot Hotels seems to work just fine when you are staying there. Hmmmm. And they were even paying for it, unlike 5 yeee hee hee customers.

The smart move is to Brightspeed where the smart set went while the Woke set has stayed behind to ruin Verizon. Just sayin.

@1kni+1oiZWDqn Yeah, I remember that too. That was back when Verizon used to own all the buildings. That was a while ago. Verizon does exactly that. They rent most of their facilities now.
So why are they paying for this since the rent the buildings?

@1jrv+1oiZWDqn Brother no I don’t find that odd. When I was on the copper side they were updating a lot of buildings. As it turns out we sold a lot of the facilities and simply leased the buildings back cause VZ didn’t want to be in the real estate business, so the updates were paid for by the new building owners..

Anyone find it odd that they are paving the lots, updating the bathrooms, installing new lights, and painting the outside of garages in copper areas? I'm sure its probably just because they really care about the 10 employees that report there and want to make sure the facilities are really nice in appearance for them.

The aforementioned article is purely about PA receiving government funding and how many challenges a network buildout poses regardless of funding quality. This does not mention Verizon or any other carrier by name nor does it mention the sales of any assets for any company.
