Sorry to those who still want to work for this POS company but most of my coworkers and I just want to GTFO! And yeah we're all waiting for the company to PAY us to leave. We get up to TWO years pay per our Leg T/CWA contract, which we fought for, and we ain't leaving until they pay us! For those uninformed who'll immediately apply basic economic logic and say this won't happen: you know nothing and you're opinions are not valid. Come back here on September 15th to hear about those of us celebrating long paid vacations, then pensions, 401k, and social security. Nice life here in the good ole US of A! Keep on workin' in the USA!

VTP might be offered to non-technician jobs, but technicians will not receive anything like this.
Voluntary Termination Package. VTP. Seen it a few times. It bridges the gap if an union (dreg) as so many like to say, wishes to leave the company. Really, who would not want take that pay and leave. Anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 years pay, damn sight better than non bargained and their 6 months cap on severance.
Randell and Stankey are responsible for the condition AT&T is in. Quit trying to cry "I don't have that, so yours is not fair!!".

Every 3 months there are CWA members who get the VTP and so there's many of us who are waiting for it. September 15th is the next date some will eagerly get it.

The OP and her coworkers already know that there will be no "offers" however we do believe our positions will sooner or later be declared surplus and thus VTP will happen before Involuntary layoffs happen. While VTP and ITP have same payout up to 2 years, at least this hopefully prevents those not ready to leave from losing their jobs as there are many of us who'll love to take the VTP and move on.”
We can better afford to pay you with current revenues than we can to advance pay you 2 years salary. They can afford to let you sit and do nothing before they pay $190k per person

Crazy? Haha you forgot what company you work for! And if YOU could get TWO years pay you'd love it too. Kind of like, if I gave you a winning lottery ticket you'd take it. Anyways, every 3 months some workers get the VTP and there's so many who hope it's their turn September 15th or December 15th. At least it's fun to dream about it too.
2 years is crazy. It is cheaper for T to wait for you to do something termination-worthy or to just wait for you to die.

T says the employees are their most valuable asset. That is why Mgt severance was reduced from one year to six months. Seniority job security and enough severance to insure employee survival until a new position is acquired. When will management see the value of a union and start one? Maybe bad management is inherent at all levels.
