Looks like the job market is imploding.
Anyone having any luck?

Guys here is an advice:
Had a few offers but no where near Ford money. I was near the top of pay grade. It's not as good as some thing. The jobs want exact matches, i.e. stealing person from another company. I've also experienced "age discrimination", you could see in eyes on zoom mtg. Well good thing I really don't need to work.
This actually might be, in a perverse way, good news. If the job market is that bad, then the rise of interest rate will stop and hold steady or start to decline again, which will pick things back up in another 12 to 18 months- that’s right in about another year, you’ll be able to get a job - just not in automotive. Biden and his crew are effectively destroying the American auto industry; Michigan will die within 10 years.
I was let go last year from Ford. Found two jobs by October 2022, but was laid off from both by May and June 2023.
Have had some interviews. Got to final round for one but not picked. Had an interviewed schedule this week canceled as they went with internal resources. Have an interview block this Thursday for 1 and 1/2 hours, and may get another one next week.
It is interesting, meaning not nearly as good as last year. I think many companies are waiting until 2024 to be honest to hire, to save the last shred of money in 2023. I will say I have noticed that a September surge does seem to be developing, so a glimmer of good news:
Anyone over 50 find a job yet?
I was let go at the end of June. Just started looking/applying in the last few weeks. No offers yet.
Depends on what your job background is. Myself and everyone that got let go in my area, none of us have received any job offers. Its been one year now.
There are plenty of jobs out there.
Yup.
found 2 jobs that accepted me but ultimately had to choose one.
it's not fully remote but it's hybrid now.
The new job is also a 26% increase in salary compared to Ford.
So there is some glimmer of hope
Yes, I found a better job, and quit Ford. No regrets.
Nope. Actually had an interview today that was canceled due to the "overwhelming response" the company had to the job listing. They contacted me for an interview on Friday and canceled it on Monday.
It's a mess. Hoping I don't get laid off - like the rest of us.
