Thread regarding Ford layoffs

End of Escape and Edge

Brilliant move to replace these two SUVs with EVs. The Lincoln version edge will be imported from CCP.

JF and Billy are d-mber than I thought. Which one is D-mb and which one is D-mber?

So more salary cuts coming to help make up for more huge EV losses.

The Ford Edge and Escape sales have been going down for the past number of years. These vehicles has many problems and poorly designed. They can't compete with Toyota, Honda, Kia, Hyundai. The new designs from China looks better and more reliable. Why not import them and make some good money.

Are the ki-ling the platform, or the name, as well?

Anyway I guess Ford figure with the Bronco Sport and Bronco, they got people covered that want an ICE compact and midsize SUV (the Bronco Sport is more or less what the first gen Escape was) , so why not make them BEV? Trouble is a bad as Ford’s ICE models are, their BEVs are worse.

Glad I retired last year. Looking to replace my Lincoln with the new Mazda CX-90 plug in hybrid. Good looking, good driving, and a lot cheaper than Fords mid size plug in hybrid SUV (Aviator)

The fact that ford can not make money on these is concerning.

Just import from China and slap a Ford or Lincoln label on the POS. Good to go…

New Escape looks like butt. Ki-ling the Edge is a huge mistake.

Lol, Edge was the only vehicle we could build during the chip shortage because it did not have as many modules compared to the newer controller architectures. Solution: get rid of it. My recommendation to all my fellow Ford employees, better build up your savings buffer because this bi--h is going off the rails soon.

I can't imagine a day when US customers will place an order for a made in China car. LOL, if that is where Ford is going, they are indeed months away from bankruptcy...

Yes they are just giving our customers to our competitors, just like they did when we stopped making cars. This insanity needs to stop.

If edge is replaced, ford is gone for good.
