Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Robertson town hall

She talks about building trust while they are tracking badge swipes and logins and you never know when you’ll be axed or asked to move. I guess she didn’t learn irony on that hike she did.

At least she hasn’t pulled out the you can’t hate who you sit next to BS.

Unfortunately there are too many people that have been put into positions they shouldn't be in. I've seen about an even split between people who deserve the promotion they got, and ones who were placed for various reasons I know you have all seen as well.

This puts too many in a position to do poorly, drive off real qualified employees, and make decisions that hurt us all.

“I saw her as hitting it down the fairway. Sorry, but we have a lot of people here that don’t train themselves for new and evolving jobs and simply don’t add enough value to justify their salaries and benefits. We need experts, not entitled and lazy people. You can’t fill the role of 5 experts with 10 people pretending to know what they are doing.”

You hit it right in the water just like she did. She said absolutely nothing about expertise or lack of individual performance. As has been explained about 1000 times, the cuts and RTO are about the debt the so-called ‘experts’ saddled the company with, real estate utilization and st-----g execs egos.

And what expert wants to be a part of a shrinking company with no opportunities for growth? She made it very clear that vacancies are unlikely to be backfilled, meaning that people will continue to be stuck in the same roles unless they are re-orged into something else, no matter what their ratings are.

If your not needed your not needed. It wont change soon and complaining won’t help you. Managers will RTO quick or get a wire tech / premises tech position if you qualify. First apply, take a physical and written test. Soon you’ll be on a pole with a used BuckSqueeze with craft instructors. Don’t worry, you’ll like it here .

You know you are doing very little work when you complain about badge swipes and logins. You should be very worried.

But, but, but I'm a "manager" I'm not an unskilled Union worker!!! These layoffs should not apply to me! I am special.

I knew her as a first level. Zeke Robertsons daughter in law. She was chosen to rise quickly many years ago and tripper the Peter Principle many levels ago.

this company needs to get rid of Stankey and those who blindly follow him...therw should be a shareholder revolt...he and Randall have set records for destroying shareholder value and making botched acquisitions....

The “trust” ship has sailed. How anyone in management uses that word with straight face is beyond me.

“ She is so uncomfortable to watch. She has no public speaking capabilities at all.”

Totally agree. She tries to come off as honest but everything she says sounds like spin or new age gobbledegook.

I guess the one thing that seemed honest was the general pessimism. What is the motivation to stay at a company that even sr leaders say will do nothing but get smaller? Where is the opportunity to grow there?

If she really believes in that radical candor stuff she should have said that the best thing you can do right now is look for a new job, which is what they really want anyway.

And she is simply doing what Stankey told her and others to do, even though she didn't want to admit it when answering that one question that mentioned that. Wanted to make is sound as though she had some power over decisions, ha
