Musk will do for telecoms what he’s done for Twitter— wreck whatever he touches.

Musk has no interest in anything other than managing the dynamics of batteries and rechargeable energy sources

Musk is a mo--n. Buys other peoples inventions with his South African daddy’s money then claims them as his own. Them proclaims himself a genius. Sounds a lot like another guy we know.

Everyone is coming for telecom, technology has driven cost and margin into the basement. T’s unlimited plan price for one line is laughably higher than most MVNO’s pricing. How long do you think people will pay $70+/- for a line when you can get comparable service for $30 including fees with similar coverage? With lower margin comes lower headcount. T is hugging sand.

loving all the Musk hate... coming from working line employees about a billionaire and how d-mb he is.... keep on hating, but consider if he does get into this space, no pun, he would revolutionize this industry and shake telecom up which is long overdue, the main players have never truly had competition and consider the need for us to help that be successful, so dont be so quick to knock it. now feel free to down vote and hate.

PSTN will not bridge the technological divide. The architecture somehow will incorporate those satellites within LEO for video/ audio. Just need a device chip set manufacture to build what you're needing to support that platform. If done right, this will be a game changer that will hurt AT&T and other carriers.

Musk is a clown. As stated earlier this is part of his bad idea to turn twitter now X into a rip-off of Weibo, which is basically an all-in-one app in China.

If you don’t innovate, you stagnate.

The “phone company” has been out to lunch for decades. Their last big product was ADSL.

lol, just part of his failing attempt to make twitter an all-in-one communications platform, nothing to see here.

Given Elon's recent trajectory, I'd say this looks like just another way for him to lose a few billion dollars.

I bet Elon and Stink would make great golfing buddies.

This is a very d-mb take. There are thousands of players in OTT services. Nobody - NOBODY wants to get in the physical telephony business.

Its easy make an OTT business. Setup an IP gateway, pay a telco to make it work, charge the customer for everything.

This extends to enterprise telephony. Nobody wants to administer their own TNs. They call a big daddy telco to setup their call directory, extensions, etc, then use OTT for literally everything else.

Until TNs become obselete (which is happening, but nowhere near fast enough for it to matter today), every business will still need call directories, and theyll still need telcos to make those work, even if its wrapped by someone like RingCentral.

Cell plans are for data at this point. Over the top voice works but not great. PSTN is far more reliable.
