This is a mfg issue at the Sterling Height Plant. It was due not following DCP per PFMEA. Again, it is a UAW lack of commitment to quality. No, it was not due to India or Mexico CAE work, it was due to negligence from our own American labor, which is a mix of black and white. Do no be racist and blame only blacks, in this quality issue chocolate w/milk flavor was involved.
The design was made at ATNPC by While People, BTW there is no minorities at ATNPC responsible of P708 Axles.

@jpu you do realize we need to sell hardware to sell the software services right? Or that BEVs also have axles right?

@jpu we won’t be selling any software if we aren’t selling any hardware. You must be Model e, or Canopy.

Another example why transforming the company away from hardware and focusing on software and subscription/services will benefit the bottom line. BEV and Ford+ initiatives will earn revenue and not bite us later with costly campaigns like this one.

Can't they just fix this with a software update?

From the recall report:
Description of the Defect : The left rear axle shaft may have been manufactured without properly completing electromagnetic induction heat treatment process.
Description of the Cause : Personnel at the axle shaft supplier entered an incorrect process parameter

Relax, it's only the left axle shaft. The right side should be good to go :)

Sounds like a supplier sc--w up. Being an inverted delta item this part needs strict manufacturing controls.
