Those that must go into an office are being monitored with badge swipes and if you do not comply, subject to termination. I know a few that have vacation homes or spots that plan to work from there.

News flash. As far back as 2019 the company provided daily reports of systems used, clicks, dead air time etc. at the employee level. They been spying on folks for days
VPN is definitely monitored by the company. Back in the day when people had space to call their own, CRE would mark your cubicle as unoccupied if you were observed working a majority of time via VPN. It happened to people in Bridgewater and then Bedminster.
That was but the logic can be applied in the new sit-at-the-coffee-bar open office plan.
It's all part of the plan to improve productivity by driving off experienced TWs, make those who choose to "follow the work" spend hours a day commuting and cut off any extra effort put in from home, and those who lost or never had TW status angry and resentful. Great for productivity on this board, not so good for AT&T.
There have been reports around forever with VPN versus LAN and keysyokes as two friends worked on it about 5 years back.

Been hearing this for years. Swipe, stroke, su-k up, none of it matters. We are all simply a line on a spreadsheet. Like the boardwalk game of the ducks going around. Just a matter of time until you’re eliminated.

The ability is there. Who knows how much att is using it. Also, The ability is there to see idle time with no keyboard activity. And grab random screen shots. With all the monitoring tools out there, imho, your safest assuming all keyboard, app time and display activity can be checked at any time.

Second, all of this about badge swipes, VPN, keystrokes, etc. The only metric being actively monitored as of right now is badge swipes, and those are simply monitored for compliance to the minimum 3 days per week; or in the case of virtual, the minimum of 1 day per month. That’s it. I have seen and gone through the reports. They are very simple.
If you think they have the bandwidth or capability to start sorting through how often everyone is moving their mouse, you are delusional.
VPN versus LAN connections and keystroke activity is the primary source, then badge swipes as a backup. When keystroke activity stalls something is up if over 15 or 20 minutes.

VPN is the lead indicator. Badge swipes is somewhat subjective as mechanical failure, card malfunction etc. could explain deviations. VPN is precise, location, time stamped, literally every validated metric needed to track.
They are not monitored, they are on the trust system.
