So we have 20 days until D-day?
This seems like a pretty unhealthy way to work a job

What insider knowledge does anyone have that there WON’T be mass firings the week of 9/25?
f***, pls don't spread rumors again, get a life
I don't think it's quite quitters that are the problem here. It's the lack of direction and the inability of ALL the layers of management to agree on what they want.
Our team can't get any work done because all the LLs keep arguing over what they want. That will be our fault for being late.
Plus they show up randomly at meetings to remind us that if our project isn't successful we'll all be fired.
Great for morale and terrible for the company.
Moreover, regarding the cuts, Ford is suffering brain drain of both young people not pensionable and salaried employees who are.
Last November, 1000 employees left Ford, within a few years early, of their own retirement. The purpose was to take the lump sum and run. These folks are the smart employees, skilled enough to recognize this and manage a lump sump benefit by investing on their own.
So this year, with interest rates higher, expect Ford to see another brin drain come November.
It not very attractive to new recruits.
Ford will require more money to pay the UAW demands. It has to come from somewhere.
@1nfj:
Ford has plenty of valuable resources, and has had them over the years since 2019 SRD.
yes there is excess employees however the continued cuts of longtime valuable people show Ford has poor planning and no creativity in using assets to benefit shareholders. As Ford adds new employees thru hiring or LCC this shows poor execution.
‘Software defined vehicle and services, we are a data company, etc’… what a joke. Is there any other OEM blathering in this manner. Farley can’t even plan ahead to find a charger on a trip out west. What a pathetic joke at that,
Continued poor quality , poor lineup and execution is evident of change needed at the top. Stay tuned.
This is good for the company. There are thousands of useless workers at Ford and Quiet Quitters. Get rid of them in order for the company to be profitable.
It won't be massive. Ford is done doing it they publicly. Now it will be stealth cuts like last month. A few dozen spread across the company.
This will continue through next year. 50-60 laid off at the end of each month will eventually active achieve the 5-6k cuts they want.
Good luck.
There have been numerous early retirements and green "Open to Work" announcements on my Linkedin feed from LL6 and LL5 that I have worked with in the past. These folks are in their 40s or 50s and have not worked at Ford long enough to qualify for a full vesting of their retirement. Something is definitely happening and it seems to me that there have been a quiet purge of the mid levels over the past few days.
I have been told that a dept is cutting people but those people won’t know who is going until end of oct. and they supposedly don’t know where they will be going. Is this because there will be a layoff first?
The only reasons I’ve heard for this date are that it’s before the end of Q3 and it’s after the auto show. The numbers are extrapolated from comments made in interviews about how many engineers the company should have.
Anything more concrete than that?
Biggest layoff in 40 years coming to you soon, buckle up, it’s looking more like a Great Depression
I believe it.
