@ 1dhg: can you be more specific? Which IT group? IT is a very large organization.
GDIA has some great minds and most of the people are from outside Ford. They're having hard times working with traditional Ford IT and engineers who never share information and setup multiple meetings to resolve a basic issue. IT hasn't evolved at Ford since early 2000s and GDIA has also failed to showcase the analytics capabilities to broader Ford.
Never understood why GDIA was formed as an autonomous organization and not an integral part of IT. All the hoopla about how they were going to use big data to help find efficiencies for the business never materialized. No accountability and a huge waste of resources and money. Kind of like restructuring the company by splitting it into two overlapping organizations.
They hand out promotions based on slick Power Point skills and fantasy storytelling. Just run through the roster of LLs and you be able to pick them out from a mile away.

This is nothing new, GDIA has been a clown show for years. Analysts (they call themselves "data scientists") wont listen to application SME's and their management has unrealistic expectations. It reminds me of those artists that throw paint against a canvas and call it their expressionist masterpiece. The rest of the world says it looks like someone threw up after drinking too many Tequila sunrises.
Ford lost a great smart hardworking leader when he went back to Israel.
Everyone is doing something on their own, no communication at all. LL's have no idea how the tech help business.
