I'd honestly like to know.

Because of wlb, the hourly rate is fantastic
The real reason…
High performers at Intel are like average performers elsewhere.
Whatever you think you level is, knock it down a peg to match reality.
My region has pretty boring alternatives. Plus significantly lower pay.
I've been looking but it's just a bad area for tech
All managers (the "yes" man types, the sheep, Kool aid drinking type) and people sitting in meetings all day and PowerPoint zombies need to be let go. You know who you are. Paycheck collectors.. pathetic
I want to be a high performer. I can be a high performer only at Intel.
Because I am not greedy.
As a high performer, it is really one of the top companies anyone in tech should be interested in. Intel make the coolest products. I mean, we design and actually make them. You get to meet really awesome people with industry leading skillset. There are plenty of software companies, but a very limited number of hardware companies. As long as it stays mostly remote, I will be at Intel. Nobody else even comes close. If you own a PC, you really own either Intel or AMD, and I choose to be part of the performance oriented, leading side of that vs. the bargain side. If you choose to work at KMart or Whole Foods and think that is comparable, then go do that. Enjoy it. There is no other company right now with more of a chance to disrupt the entire industry... again.
I want to and I am going to start looking soon ...
I am a pretty good at what I do… at Intel. My “Intel skill set” frankly isn’t as valued outside of Intel… and trust me, I’ve been looking - it only makes sense to do so.
Cool Story Brah
As a high performing member of an elite group within Intel, I only need to work 1-hour a day to achieve my deliverables. Where else in the private sector would I get away with that?
I was hired at the top, when intel was giving good salary and good sign I'm bonus
I am a high performer at drafting awesome power points and attending meetings all day, and get pay grade 10 salary to do so plus huge bonuses!
Because being able to sleep on the job helps with keeping my performance high at night - my wife swears to it.
The problem is everyone think is a high performer
I’m within a few years of retirement and an introvert, so I’m not up for establishing myself at a new company if I can retire here. I have good work-life balance and an able to work 100% remote.
