Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Scoozi, we thought everything worked.

Another Ford blunder:

The Stealth Appearance Package debuted for the Ford Mustang in the 2022 model year, and carried over to 2023 – but was dropped along with the discontinuation of the S550-gen pony car, as Ford Authority previously reported. The optional package added a host of darkened elements to the 2022-2023 Ford Mustang, a popular look in this day and age. However, it seems as if some Ford Mustang Stealth models were delivered to customers with defective scuff plates, sources familiar with the matter have told Ford Authority.

In affected vehicles, the scuff plates do not illuminate when the door is opened due to an incorrect Body Control Module-B (BCM-B) configuration. The automaker notes that a grand total of 356 Ford Mustang Stealth models are affected by this issue, and at least some of them are already in the process of being repaired at the Flat Rock Assembly plant in Michigan, which is where the Mustang is produced.

As for affected vehicles that have already been delivered to customers, The Blue Oval has issued a new vehicle customer satisfaction program – 23B60 – to address this particular problem. Owners will be able to take their pony cars to a dealership, where the BCM-B will be reconfigured to the latest level using the Ford Diagnostic Repair System (FDRS) at no charge to the owner. This program will remain in effect through September 30th, 2024, and there is no mileage limit. Communications regarding this matter will be mailed to customers beginning the week of September 18th, 2023.

In addition to these lighted sill plates, the Stealth Appearance Package adds black badges, a black pony grille, black mirror caps, 19×8.5-inch Ebony Black-painted aluminum wheels, a performance rear wing, and clear LED taillamps to the Mustang, all for an additional cost of $1,995.

@ibd+1 It's an optional package. You don't have to buy it if you don't want it.

This is a d-mb feature. Just more opportunities for problems. Cars are too complicated now. Bring back the simple features, there is too much complexity.
