Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Honeywell is not all bad

There are plenty of positives about working here. The problem is that the negatives have been multiplying in the last five to six years and they have started to outweigh the positives by a large margin. For those of you who are new here and this is the only Honeywell you know, I can tell you honestly that it wasn't always like this. I hate what we've become.

It began its descent after the 2008 financial crisis when DC realized the stock had just languished since he took over. Furloughs, reduced benefits, pay cuts, no raises, lay offs, plant closures and more fun times followed. It hasn't stopped, but gotten worse as each successor had to prop up revenue and profits to keep Wall Street happy. This company has been drifting back to the financial shenanigans of the 1990's. Just waiting for the SEC to investigate since the auditors don't have the guts to call it.

Last 5-6 years? I retired early from HON 7 years ago, and it was going to $h!+ well before that. Employees used to be considered assets. Then it switched to employees becoming liabilities.

Former Honeywell employee here. The best thing about Honeywell is all those free Honeywell shirts that I acquired. I now think of Honeywell every time I paint, or change the oil on my car, or do yard work, or clean my bathroom....

@1grb+1owCurzM I thought I was the only one who removed Honeywell from their linkedin profile but I am discovering that lots of others have too!! I literally lost out on a job because I had Honeywell on my resume, I got my next interview without it and only disclosed it in the interview (with an explanation and proof I was genuine) and got the job lol!

I loved honeywell. Wore branded shirts from the company store ( remember those?)
My kid went to school onsite and ate lunch with me on fridays.
I had a family here.
All gone. We cant even scrape together time to raise funds for the charities we used to support. Nothing is local anymore.
Honeywell is a lonely empty shell of what itvused to be and i took down my linkedin out of embarrasment. I will retire without fanfare having outlasted all ghe people i knew.
Nothing but empty cubes these days.

You must be management.

Honeywell management is based off their friends. They all cover each other when things go wrong. If that not bad, our customers are threatening to pull contracts. Because they’re not getting their parts on time, due to the rework and record scrap that we create.

In order to recover from all that scrap. They have created toxic environment. Where they try to push more parts. In order to make more parts. We don’t follow processes anymore. By eliminating steps in our process. We can now create more parts.

Unfortunately, it has created record amount of scrap, cost, and rework parts. Since they always hire their friends for management. They all stand up for each other. We could’ve got a big apple contract. Yet! We blew it.

I guess he couldn’t handle our B.S. We were dishing out. it also doesn’t help when you pay your bills six months late. With engineers, quitting, and unqualified people running this place. We’re going to go down like that SS Honeywell. I hope you all have your resumes going. You just wait until what they dish out for the holidays.

Apples gave us a timeframe. We hired a bunch on unqualified people. Who will B.S. in believing anything. The great and mighty Apple corporation. Once they realize what type of people we hire. On qualified employees. You are only qualified to B. S. They can make you believe that an outhouse. You can take showers in it. Since you all bunch of Kool-Aid drinker’s. You’re probably looking for the shower head.

Then, when a customer states they smelled something. These Kool-Aid management. Tell you that they don’t smell nothing. When it comes to the toilet seat. They’ll probably temporary early bolt down so nobody can open it.

Positive is that it’s a paycheck and will yield a severance when RIFs and mass layoffs eventually come. Also there are many pockets where you can do nothing, have little visibility and still keep your job.

Negative is well, not enough space in text box.

I have seen it flip in the last 5 years, 2017/18 is when it really started going to 5hit.
I can not think of one good thing about my job any more except that I get a paycheck.
The colleagues I have left are just the worst, it is like Honeywell has intentionally filtered out anyone good or capable. Every day I drive into the car park I feel depressed.
