I quit a week ago and got my final paycheck. I had a negative PTO balance and was told it would be taken from my final pay but they didn't take anything. Super confused

They let you leave owing them PTO. If you never work for them again, don't worry about it. But if you plan on returning at a later date, the total amount owed must be paid back before you reapply.
Best case scenario the write it off. Realistic result is, depending on state law, you will seriously get a bill for it later.
Job many eons ago. I had negative PTO.. diff job. They couldn't take anything as well. Some law or something..enjoy the few extra bcuks.
