Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Does being HTHD have any bearing on getting laid off?

Apparently I’m HTHD but not sure if that means anything

HTHD means Ford has identified that you are underpaid for your position relative to the industry. Congrats! Don’t worry, the new hires that have come in since that as created are getting paid properly.

Everyone is a target. Over 50, with over 20 years of service ( pensioned ) makes you a greater target. The rest are used to shield age discrimination. Lawler has to demonstrate operating costs to investors by Q4 - so everyone is fair game.
Remember, nepotism and the ' friends and family ' plan are the rule of law at Ford, NOT accomplishments and wins that lead to profitable products.
Looking through Linkedin profiles of those laidoff over the past several years that were exceptional employees which meant nothing.
Ford fakes also have a way of coming out of the woodwork to take credit for work they never did. D Ford under one of the biggest fakes, Musgraves, was IMO guilty of such behavior and was cut.
Farley is a fraud and ruthless, he backstabbed and threw whoever he could under to get his position as CEO. Pathetic. He accomplished noting at Toyota/ Scion and has nothing to show at Ford either.
Friends that were cut last August all found better positions quickly and oddly felt it was a blessing to leave the toxic environment that is FoMoCo.
Are more layoffs coming? of course they are. Farley, Field, Stern etc all need to make room for their chosen. It's all about empire building. Out with the old and in with the fakes, frauds, incompetence. Good luck to all, it's going to get worse than ever before years end.

HTHD has only really been helpful to those hiring into an HTHD role from the outside. For those internally whose job transitioned to HTHD designation (or for a role you applied to and moved into an HTHD designated role), it just made the salary band bigger, so your annual raise would've been a bit bigger, as the HR algorithm is tied to the band max, but it's fractions of a percent. It's also good if you hit the stock award, but I've not seen many of those handed out. The HTHD designations have only been within certain parts of ET and model E, and they're all subject to the same 10% task, so to answer your question, no, I don't think it necessarily has any bearing on your job security other than HTHD is used to recruit in-demand skillsets.

Nope it will actually make you more a target 🎯 instead. Because they generally make more $ than their counterparts/peers.

It didn't help me. I wasn't even given the bigger raise. I did get a good bonus, but then my position was eliminated. Over 50, white male.

If you have ADHD that might help instead, because it would be a disability and let the employer know and request a lot of accommodations

Didn’t help me. Got a raise last year and told I was a ”high tech high-demand” employee.

But, I’m over 50 and not DEI.

All the people who were part of my organization and let go in June were HTHD.
