I have an old family friend on the board and he told me.companybwide should come in at just under 20% and will be heavily skewed to the wireline side of the business.

If you read the severance document just like most documents here the conpany can cancel or change it at any time with or without notice.

Would they? I used to think no but I’m thinking they’d change it and risk the repercussions.

Monitoring WARN notices tend to mean nothing at VZ unless your whole office is going. We have had plenty of people getting layed off for years with no postings. NJ’s new rules may be an attempt to fix that although most VZers aren’t in NJ.

Check the WARN notice for your state. See if they have already had a layoff.

Stop the BS. While there will be some cuts the severance has not changed. Search it on the eweb. Not hard to find the severance package online. You don't even need to call your useless HRBR. Just stop the BS.

@5qxh+1oze8xrG you know this person is just trying to stir up stuff when they say their "director friend" told them. Directors wouldn't know about a company wide 25% cut. Any cut that big would be cutting directors themselves. A cut that big would be held to SVPs until the last minute, not shared a month in advance. You clearly have never worked on these type projects at VZ or have any idea how they are executed.

There is hardly a riff that doesn't include IT/GTS....just a matter of how much of a cut they've been asked to cut.

Severance has not changed. That's an old rumor from a decade ago. Any change now will invite class action status.

Any reduction numbers 'heard' are always higher than what they turn out to be. Some teams were 100%, other were 0%.

I heard it was 25% across the board, all departments and 4 week to all no matter how long you have been with VZ. I just left VZ a few months ago after 12 years, my old director is a friend of mine, we became friends over the many years. Looks like it's going to be a real blood bath at VZ come October!

So these comments claiming not true, go ahead and get a straight answer out of any level of brass, make them sign a document saying it won’t happen, then it may be believable in the falsehood of the statements.

October 25th or 26th. Off payroll 11/22. 2% - 10% depending on department.

RTO is mandatory for new employees. Existing, will be asked to RTO periodically based on Dept. I would not doubt some class action law suits will come eventually for not rif'ing folks from India, and only the regular folk. You can't hide this forever what they are doing.

@2rlk+1oze8xrG Would that mean layoffs end of September or October? Because I know they give some people one month and some two month warning.

It eould be interesting to see just how many are on the employee discount.
None of my family or friends use VZ. I’m the only one mostly because I work here. 5g near me is awful and the VZ coverage just stalls alot in areas I go so I’m considering saving some money and using another service myself. I don’t think the loss of one customer or 100k customers is going to bother them especially those on discounts.

Doesn't NJ require 3 months notice? There aren't many Americans/non-Indians left to RIF. The only ones remaining are either diversity tokens or scapegoats. They certainly won't RIF an Indian.

@1fqq+1oze8xrG Cmon man. This has to be the most brain dead take. You think your entire family and friend group is going to switch because you were laid off? No, they will switch when it suits them and their wallet. When I’m laid off I will be taking my account to tmo and not even because of any animosity, just based on pure economics. The service to cost ratio with vzw has taken a nose dive, the only reason I currently have vzw is due to the discount. He-l I despise att but I would switch if their service to cost ratio was good.
