Suddenly i have no work and begging for charge numbers.
Mgr says "get used to it" this is what engineering is.
Rush rush rush... layoff.

Similar to Rayptheon where the unwanted were left idle or doing busy work, hoping they would get the message and leave on their own. If that didn't occur they would eventually be caught up in a layoff.

Not having charge numbers for projects is an absolute pain for a manager and staff. This really shouldn’t happen if AOP worked, but things change in the real world. When a project of mine was cancelled by the PAC this left 2 employees without charge numbers, bar admin. And assigning time to admin is frowned upon by senior management as this is monitored. Your manager should be trying to get you assigned to another project, otherwise this potentially places you at risk of a RIF. This may be a desirable outcome, but if not, keep on at your manager to allocate you to a project to which you can assign your time.
