What does this mean? Please explain:
“And if you were one who unwilling caved to WF’s coercion a few years ago, you may soon find out that was all for naught. You are a worthless number to WF. Your subservience meant nothing.”

I thought I read that if you are laidoff after September 30, then you are still eligible for the bonus. Is that not true? Also, does WF still give you the $800 towards your health care when you are in the severance period? How about if you are in the 60 day notice timeframe?

Trolls are out in force today.

You mean the grand total of 1 planned for December in Des Moines? Or the additional 34 in West Des Moines?

@1sko+1p0Jv7qw Another straight conjecture trash post. Literally none of what you're calling out has been true in the past yet every year posters regurgitate the same claims. WF is simply looking to cut headcount and manpower in general, cost savings is the by product.

650 laid of in Des Moines today. Bloodbath.

They might need to present their numbers before the layoffs. Now who wants to bet that the stock will be under 35 by the end of next week 10/23?

This company is NOT trying to cut costs. At all. They just spent half a billion on office space we already have too much of, and that will be dirt cheap next year. The alleged focus on cost cutting is yet another PR stunt to get rid of people.

In talking to a senior level manager, there is a lot of noise right now to cut costs. It’s not expected to let up any time soon. WF is looking to cut deep. Every group will be impacted in some way.

My own opinion, WF will probably try to finish the cuts soon. It’s year end. Anyone cut will not get their 401k match or bonus. What better way to save costs?

This is also an excellent opportunity for WF to improve their DEI numbers by getting rid of people who don’t meet their DEI criteria.

And if you were one who unwilling caved to WF’s coercion a few years ago, you may soon find out that was all for naught. You are a worthless number to WF. Your subservience meant nothing.

Best to luck to those who do get laid-off. Take some time, but remember your network. People do like to help others.

Timing always stinks. But this especially stinks because those impacted lose out on the 401k match AND bonus.

That sounds about right. After seven years I was let go last Tuesday. Also, I was a remote worker hired as a SME. They shut down the app that I support earlier this year, and I had a feeling this was coming but was hoping not until early next year so I could have received the yearly bonus.

It is confirmed, major cuts in tech. Useless architecture group with high salaries, little output, on the front lines

I’ve heard there will be some layoffs every Tuesday at least through the end of the year. From what I’m hearing, if you’re on the list, you’ll get a meeting invite from your manager or their manager and get the news during that meeting, where they just give some BS prepared statement about their efficiencies plans. Largely remote and non-hub location employees so far, but not always the case. Also not based on performance so far, either.

Doubt there will be much movement. The next big one will be 10/17 since after payday.
