Last night, I was honored to receive an award on behalf of Verizon from the World Childhood Foundation, which does great work to combat the abuse and exploitation of children around the world. As a leader in technology and telecommunications, we have to create a safe digital environment for children, which is why Verizon has invested in education and digital skills and introduced products that really matter to children and parents to help protect children online.

Sharing my remarks from last night’s event:

At Verizon we share in the belief that every child has the right to safe and secure early years and we are so proud to be a part of The Foundation’s work over the last 6 years to protect children from abuse and exploitation before it begins.

Personally, I’ve been committed for a long time and it has been a true privilege to have served on the Board of this amazing organization and to see it continue to grow. As a leader in technology that connects billions of people every day, we think carefully about creating a safe environment for children to learn and thrive online in today’s digital world.

And we believe in action. In 2020 and 2021 Verizon launched a holistic Child Rights Impact assessment of the core of our business with the objective of informing and supporting the work in identifying, preventing and mitigating risks to child rights across our business operations both for current and emerging technologies.

From this assessment, we are now laser focused on 3 key areas:
● Digital access, inclusion and skills
● Digital child safety
● And product design

And we’re proud to report that as an outcome of this work, World Childhood has benchmarked us in the top decile of companies in childhood online protection.

For our customer-facing efforts, we created the Verizon Smart Family Application, a plan that serves as a digital parenting partner to give parents and guardians the tools needed to create a kid friendly online experience.

We’ve also been long invested in digital education. We have given well over $1 billion over the last 10 years to lift up children, their education and ability to prosper in society.

Through Verizon Innovative Learning we’ve provided digital skills training to 3.5 million students across the country, which sets them up to participate in the digital economy of today and tomorrow, in a safe
way.

Our commitment to World Childhood is another component of our commitment to allow every child to live free of the burdens that compromise their ability to thrive.

As a lifelong optimist of the power of technology and innovation, I believe that with the help of organizations like The World Childhood Foundation, we can usher in the next wave of innovation while ensuring our kids have the childhood they deserve. The 21st Century’s infrastructure is mobility, broadband, and cloud. Everyone has an equal right to participate in the world organizations like Verizon are working to build.

The VZ CEO should willing accept only US $1/annum for compensation.

All the remainder of the CEO's compensation should be formulated, performance based on corporate earnings. Therefore, in stock/equity of VZ common shares on a quarterly basis, after the corporate earnings are duly reported.

How soon?

VZ's Corporate earnings next Tuesday, 10/24. before the stock market opens.

Holding my breath. Unbelievable, to the current state of this corporation on the brink of a magical turnaround or corporate bankruptcy.

Currently, VZ's incurred and executive approved corporate debt is twice (2:1) higher than that of Ma Bell, AT&T.

Wednesday, December 27, 2023, is the last day to sell the VZ stock for 2023 tax loss harvesting - therefore the trade's settlement is completed before the last equity trading day for the year.

It is always wise to 'sell short against the box' to take the loss for the current tax year then reinvest to lower the tax base. Nothing new about that.

Watch what happens in Nov/Dec. Investors are going to use VZ stock if it's in their portfolio and sell it for tax harvesting to counter portfolio capital gains and reduce overall tax liability. There is just too much ground to cover to wait for a rebound.

He makes $26,000 a day with his bonuses and salary. Almost $1100 an hour. That is one expensive Swedish meatball

The most overpaid, underperforming, and least profitable leader for the shareholders in the history of the company. Total embarassment. Both Vestberg and Blackrock need to be sued for their underperformance. Truly criminal. You have to work really hard to fail this hard.

@1nlx+1p0nveAq that sounds like a lot of horse hockey to me and many others. HVs vision has been a mess and his limited sight has created significant economic damage to investors versus the broad markets.

He has an accountant's view and understanding of 5G an has surrounded himself with fellow dreamers and schemers with little engineering understanding of what he is building, selling, and wasting money on.

HV has absolutely zero respect for the overarching laws in this country preferring to see himself above such things as his comrades at the World Economic Forum and Blackrock.

HV has destroyed much wealth and weakened the infrastructure and brand name of the company in the process. HV will be gone because the pension funds will demand it.

Shares of Verizon Communications Inc. were sinking toward their lowest close in more than 13 years amid a selloff in telecommunications names.

Verizon’s stock VZ, +1.94% was off 2.0% in Friday afternoon trading, recently changing hands at $30.54. That would make for the stock’s lowest close since Sept. 8, 2010, when it finished at $30.46.

Verizon’s dividend yield, at 8.69%, is now at a record high.
