Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Premiums skyrocket,.especially for those in the middle salary band

WF reverting to the Pinto/Yugo of healthcare plans and providers. Gutted benefits and making us pay much more, especially those above $100K and below $251K.

Please tell us how much you care about employees. Our raises are well below cost of living, bonuses are a joke (if at all), 401k match is only annual and is virtually worthless WF stock.

This place is a dump.

That is such an unreasonable increase for those making $100k+ a year! I'll just remind you that an entry level employee starts at under $38k, chew on that for a minute before complaining about your effing six figure problems.

It's super cool and awesome to make less money every year. Not wasting so much on gas would help, but Hudson Yards company car types don't give a #$&@ about any of our problems.

My COBRA insurance is $532 a month which is the WF group insurance rate without the WF contribution. WF doesnt pay as much as you think because the deductibles and out of pocket costs are so high. Still on the open marketplace it's around $1100 a month without a tax subsidy.

The average UPS (Teamster) full-time driver just settled a contract where they will make about $170,000 annually in pay and benefits by 2028. Part-time union employees will be earning $25.75 per hour plus full medical coverage and pension. Wells Fargo’s minimum wage for many full-time workers is $18 per hour.

Employees at UPS, coming together, had the power over the CEO that they would not have had individually. A walk- out would have crippled UPS, in this day and age when customers expect their packages in days.

Employees at Wells Fargo could come together and take back some power from Charlie who $hits all over us every chance he gets. A walk-out at Wells Fargo would take him to his knees in less than one day. The truth is that he needs us more than we need him. Charlie is just a skinny little white guy who has pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes.

I am in Charlotte and I am having to go to United healthcare. It looks like anthem is only covered as a high deductible plan now and I have a son with a disability and I have to have him on a co-pay plan. My biweekly rate goes up $15. However, our deductible dropped by about $500 in my out-of-pocket is the same as the anthem. I’ve had united healthcare in the past when I lived in Iowa, and I did not have a bad experience with them, and I had a number of surgeries in precertification’s. I know that everybody’s experience is very different, but I can live with this.

Not really for or against unions, but it's infinitely clear to me that if domestic WF employees unionized that Hudson Yards would essentially "resolve the problem" by laying off almost the entire domestic work force. Sure, they'd keep some, but really, once the branches go away and mortgage goes away, how many domestic workers do you absolutely need? You could probably outsource / contract 90% of the 178k US employees we have now. Maybe the survivors would have decent benes, but that wouldn't do anything for the 90% that got S canned.

Seems like our current compensation and benefits are the way they are (and getting worse) so management and Charlie can secure their benefits and compensation. It’s a vampire economy. The affluent feed off of the rest of us to live lavishly, while the rest of us have to endure an economic depression that those in power don’t want to admit exists (and that their greed caused).

Be careful with that union talk. What they don't tell you is that the employee gets free healthcare, but if you add your family you pay double than what you would with the current setup at Wells.

Wife is a teacher and to add kids on her plan would be about $400 per month

My premiums would only go up about $7 for the $100k-$250k range. Not bad. Two years ago was the biggest increase.

Here comes the pro union rhetoric. Meanwhile you're acting like these people never paid Union Dues but FREEEEEEE HEALTHCARRREEEEE!!!!!! If someone needs a Union to protect them then great, I am truly happy they did that and are able to provide for those important to them. I have family that retired while in Unions and are living their best lives.

But show me someone in a Union who does the same job as I do and lets play big bank take little bank. Slap down a pay stub and do a line by line. The math has never worked out in favor of the Union side in my experience. My larger gross, larger take home, larger investment accounts and greater overall benefits in general has always trumped anything that could be provided by a Union I've seen.

Whats even more comical is I was just laid off and they are going to use my last years pay, which includes a bonus that put me over 100k as my “salary”, although it’s impossible for me to get a bonus on severance. So I’m paying the higher premium based on a pay I will definitely not receive. Thanks WF

My relatives who are in a union still pay $0 for medical optical and dental insurance, as well as most also have a $0 Copay. My brother’s Copay just went up from $0 to $5 per visit 🙄.

The naysayers like to bash the Union - but I would argue that 100% of my family who are in a Union are doing better than 75% of Wells Fargo employees when you take in the salary + benefits + free medical. (That is a random guess based on whatever some say is the average salary at Wells Fargo. Different websites state different salaries.)

PLUS they are all walking away with a 401k and a pension.

Wells Fargo’s benefits $u-k and they take something more away from us every year.

We can all complain as much as we want (yes - including me), but if we continue to stay here (and/or not fight back) while Charlie enjoys F’ing us all over in every way imaginable, then we have no one to blame but ourselves.

Why should WF subsidize anyone living in SF whine the job could be performed in any of the less cost of living hubs? As a shareholder, I would want WF to hire people in DSM or CLT to keep location pay low.

I'm guessing the amount WF pays per employee for healthcare. which I heard them saying a few years back was $10k per year, hasn't changed while the costs we're being charged keep going up. Still cheaper than going out on the open market.

I just wish the salary ranges were adjusted for location, $100K in DSM != $100K in SF or NYC

I like how the penalty for making $100,000+ is significantly more than the benefit/bonus for not smoking or losing weight.

Employees making $100,000 will pay about $1,150 more a year for the exact same health plan as someone making $99,999 a year. The 100k employee also loses the employer HSA contribution… there goes another $500. What a joke.
