UAW Local 900 donations

So, local 900 is taking donations to help striking workers. HMMM, why don't the other union members still working and not striking supplement them? Aren't they all about solidarity?

Yes, I don't understand why some union employees are striking while others are getting full compensation. Maybe someone can explain to me how that is fair. Also, it seems like a strike across the board would parallelize the company and force them into taking action faster.

Interesting article in New York post.

Our local D3 are a tiny fraction of the auto industry. Tesla could buy Ford and gm. Apple, google, Microsoft could buy Ford and gm.

Since these are difficult industries, no one is offering to buy up these companies which may yield a 5% profit margin if lucky consistently. Our stock prices reflect that, going back dozens and dozens of years.

There are no lucrative profits to be shared with UAW. They already get $15k or more some years during profitable times. This is 20% of their income. They are dreaming if they think there’s more to give.

The union will never learn.
There is a fair offer on the table to make up for the give backs they incurred in 2007.
But they think we are in the 1960s.

If you are a salaried employee in ANY marginal capacity start looking for a new job because the company WILL need offsets to the new contract costs. Not all of the costs have been anticipated.

Union members enjoy your new contract while it lasts, because it won’t. Ford is already leaning into Mexico and other countries. The Ford Family can only give so much and they are the ones that historically have had your backs. Everyone has their limits.

Bless their hearts! Thoughts & prayers...that should be all they need to tide them over.

@reg whatever benefits they secure will be paid for by moving your job to India. Who would have thought that one day you'd have engineers in India and Mexico making $20k designing cars rubes in the US making $150k sc--w together, all led by 6 levels of overpaid incompetence

We should support them and not bash them. Whatever improved benefits they secure will trickle into salary. We should also be getting cola and higher % wage increases.

I guess unity is "you live on $500 a week but you over here keep making $30/hour plus overtime".

Also the $500 strike pay is curious. UAW: We can't live on $17/hour, but we will only give our members $500/week to strike."

Hmmm.....

I’ll donate some t-shirts with ‘eat the rich’ emblazoned on them, like UAW chief Fain showed off a couple days ago.

How about UAW look forward to some southern cooking, when Ford and GM move plants south where the transplant companies have no problem filling jobs with non -UAW workers.

Or UAW plan for some authentic Mexican cuisine, when gm and Ford move the jobs to Mexico. Or Brazil, or China, India, etc.

How many past UAW presidents are in jail? Do they share a cell?
