It will certainly cost jobs, both inside and outside of the auto industry. How many depends on how long it continues, but as people increasingly lose income and fall behind financially, their purchasing power goes along with it, especially expensive products like automobiles. Too many people don't seem to understand that the guy that isn't working the line for a supplier, also isn't paying a contractor to remodel his home, which means the contractor is going to defer the cost of a new truck until works picks up, and his employees are either laid off or working fewer hours, so they aren't hitting the local coney island for lunch everyday, and it just goes on and on. It's a huge domino affect that we aren't feeling yet because its only been a month, but many surely will feel it in the coming months because the bills are coming due regardless of employment status.

@cpn+1p7wUmZD - Who engineered all the fiascos from the 80's/90's/2000's and the last 20 years? Quality has always been an issue at Ford.

@Ford Promotion has always been Job1.

Salaried can expect to a very small bonus or none at all.

You can expect a large layoff. My guesstimate is March 2024.

Blue collar, hard to say. If you are a white collar employee, the strike will not impact what is already happening since it had been happening since 2008.

I manage teams from many countries, I can say that Indians certainly will work the hardest. And Mexicans work smart. I have no problem know this is where my future cars are coming from.

They are just going to use the strike as an excuse to accelerate moving our jobs out of this country. This has been their plan all along. Look at what they’re doing to salary jobs. Good luck having green engineers design your new cars they know nothing about. You think quality is bad now?? Just wait.
