I be Very happy if they do VR. Most of company would apply I think.

See the Cisco Cius with it's leading edge business application "flashlight." Or the camera which overheated in the first three minutes of charging so you couldn't use it. Or the personal teleconferencing system with a $60/mo charge to provide sufficient QoS for it to actually work when the rest of the world was moving from voice to text. Or the set top boxes and home cable routers which are a mess. Linksys came in then went right out the other side.

Consumer products just aren't a Cisco thing.

You posted on the 14th so this should have happened on the 15th. Where was the announcement?

Give a good ER like the very first one.

If Cisco could do a slightly effective survey and act on it they'd outright fire anyone who thinks this is a good idea.

Give a good ER like the very first one. I can guarantee that you can cut headcount 25%+ then.

Cisco and layoffs.

As certain as the sun rises and sets.

Ask any college grads from 2010 and onwards. First thing comes to mind about Cisco is layoffs.

Why work for a layoff machine?

@1uvi+1pAIGkYp - “I be Very happy” if you went back to 4th grade English! Your parents would be disappointed.

I be Very happy if they do VR. Most of company would apply I think. Cisco not do exciting stuffs. All legacy commodity technologies. IP forwarding not changed in 30 years but that accounts for 90% of revenues.

Hope that EC is part of the Security bloodbath, but more likely not since she is leadership.

Bloodbath with the Security team. I barely can get customers to hear our pitch or do TOI with them anymore.

Interest rates are high and that's eating up corporate profits. All corporations are in the same boat. Most will, if not already, feel the lag effect of Fed interest rate hikes during 2024. Unemployment is increasing rapidly in all industries. We may end up in a deep recession as debt piles up and people can't pay. Hope everyone has at least 5 years of emergency funding saved up. You're going to need it.

They should allow for voluntary redundancy.

As been pointed out over and over and over and over again, Cisco did this with Early Retirement and lost some of their best people who had new jobs the following Monday. The best don't quiet quit and quiet quitters often reveal their lack of motivation in interviews and may need more than a full package to cover the gap before the next job. Be careful what you wish for.

Five years ago, I walked with ten months pay, rmap, and rsus with LR. I was really irritated; 18 years.

Sounds like that now would be a sweet deal many currently would be glad to take.

Looking back; it was probably one of the best things that happened in career. Was overly emotionally invested.

Hang in there folks.

Would love this to be true. They should allow for voluntary redundancy. Cisco HR if you are reading this, make an offer to the people that are quietly quiting out there. You can likely offer them half the normal redundancy money and they will take it willinginly with a smile.
