I’m constantly getting messages at 7 and later; is this the norm here? I don’t make enough to be expected to work that late but maybe that is the normal here

@eezr concur. Although the freeloaders do seem to multiply annually in ITO. It has been exceedingly difficult to get ITO work done post the 2019 Smart Redesign. It targetted the most talented and most productive. It is crazy that the freeloaders are still attempting to blame people who have been gone for over four years for present day issues. “So-and-so didn’t train me on that process so I can’t fix it”. LMAO. My supervisor got frustrated when a basic ITO request wasn’t being completed and the blame game was being played. He said “you have been in your position for what 22 years and still haven’t mastered the basics?” Big mistake, the ticket was closed as user error and the LL6 complained to LL5 about abusive behavior LMAO
ITO has a mix bag of great talent and free loaders. Great talent leave after they see how free loaders operate.
Whats up with Chuck? This was going on when he was a young LL5 and he made a big stink about people doubling their salaries with fake OT; shut it down; moved to other areas; the practice resumed; and now that he has moved up a couple of levels he is blind? Super annoying all the “stealing” that goes on at FoMoCo and the wink-wink from the LL6-LL5-LL3. Its like they all are coming to the situation with dirty hands and can’t so defend/ignore situations.
@OP yes, every time we get pinged off hours we get 2 hours of OT pay / bankable comptime. The magician on our team set up a chron task to cause a fake failure and ping the on call person every few hours off prime shift. He forgot to turn it off when the strait laced newbie was on call. The newbie figured out what was up turned it off and reported it to the LL6. The LL6 berated the newbie, and backed the magician. We are still making bank via this chron task in ITO. Oh and the LL6 continues to crow about how dedicated her staff is taking loads of off-shift calls and solving problems before the plants are impacted. LMAO And yes the LL5, LL4 and LL3 all repeat this nonsense upwards.

It's just the people who are unreachable and doing their daily home stuff or another job during normal business hours.

The only time I use them is during normal business hours.
They just do that so that you think they are working 16 hour days, and they can brag about it the next day. It's all a scam. They are sitting watching TV, eating chips. ..when they put down the remote, to text you. Ignore it!

No, that should not happen on a regular basis. Your manager is behaving badly. A little before and after start/quit time is OK as long as it doesn't happen everyday.

Naw ignore those. They were busy at their second job during normal hours. 9:00-3:00 eastern are critical business hours. Make sure your 8 for that and you are fine
