Joined starry eyed and now realizing the mistake I made. Career death / stagnation by 1000 cuts.
Was sold a fake dream and in reality this is just a company full of paper pushers and quiet quitters. No one really wants to grow and is just playing politics and pushing actual work and responsibility to other people. No technical or skill growth , just growth in lying and taking credit for other peoples work.
I imagine you have to BS hard on your resume to get interviews elsewhere
Especially when your only accomplishment is setting up the department christmas party.
Just like buying a timeshare, read the fine print.
They preached the dream for 5-minutes and reality hits hard for the amount of useless paperwork required to get to that dream, all magnified by management's indecision to make a decision. Maybe lack of leadership is better served when discussing anyone in authority here. It's also the world class mountain of useless paperwork pushed by the management team. Other companies are nimble, requiring much less effort in decision making and change.
Ten years here and management is too scared to make a ripple in the waters. Management is selected for certain "leadership traits" at Ford and obviously decision making, rink taking, pushing technology, making a better process isn't involved in the interview / character ranking.
Management's next-up list is loaded with useless folks enhanced by their career path of inability.
