Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Does anyone know

What technology will double Permian recoveries? Sounds like smoke and mirrors.

Huff and puff is a total joke. If deployed field wide how would the economics ever work out? How much electrical power and additional infrastructure would it take? How many more operators and how much more OPEX? I really wish someone would do a study on cost to scale accounting for all the realities of actual operations such as downtime, CAPEX, emissions, and OPEX.

OP we don't have such a "secret technology". It's just smoking mirrors so the shareholders keep the shares. If not the stock price will keep dropping and Darren and Kathy will lose millions. We can't double production. The technology doesn't exist and we've fired, piped, pushed out all the guys that know how shlt works. It's not happening. It's just a big lie.

Lots of so call advisors and business managers giving bad advice to advance their own careers. When it turns bad, just pin it on whoever is holding the bag.

Huff and Puff. They tried it last year in NM and part of the process started a fire. Luckily for Eggs On, a hand was on site, grabbed a fire extinguisher from his car and put the fire out. These are typically unmanned facilities. if nobody was there the what I'm sure is multi-million dollar facility would have burned to the ground.

I hear they are going to try try it again in Midland next year.

https://www.economist.com/business/2023/10/11/why-exxonmobil-is-paying-60bn-for-pioneer

ExxonMobil acquired Pioneer Natural Resources for $60bn in one of the biggest oil mergers ever1. The deal nearly doubled ExxonMobil’s domestic oil output in an instant, putting it top of the ranking of American producers1. The acquisition combined Pioneer’s differentiated Permian inventory and basin knowledge with ExxonMobil’s proprietary technologies, financial resources, and industry-leading project development to generate double-digit returns by recovering more resource, more efficiently and with a lower environmental impact2. The deal is also likely to prompt more consolidation in the fragmented oil industry1.

It is smoke and mirrors but what do you expect from a downstreamer. He is being sold a miracle by people hoping to advance their careers before they are found out. Huff and puff is snake oil.
