Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

This week’s poll!

Would you leave the company given the right severance package and what would that package need to look like.

One weeks pay of balding stinky's paycheck and will still work my normal 60+ hours and not remind the old lazy ones to move on so we can continue to hire younger more grateful types.

There are many of us under cash balance pension for which there is no MR 75 milestone impact. So whether there or not doesn't matter from that perspective (or really for much else frankly).

So for me, an offer of my standard management severance (6 months) would probably do it at this point. Though I don't know that we'll ever see another MVO.

“50 and 23 years of service does not equal modified rule of 75 for managers. Just saying”

No it wouldn’t but 50 with 27 years of services DOES equal modified rule of 75

Found the perfect poll. Recently got surplussed from my L2 and I have the SBC pension (the generous one). Managed to secure a job, but it’s a level one position, and I’m still four years away from the modified rule of 75.

Despite finding a job, I’m not thrilled with it and have started exploring opportunities outside the company. Got an offer from another company with a salary increase of 50k compared to my previous L2 role. The catch? I just realized I’d be leaving about 75% of my pension on the table, a whopping 225k. Ah, the allure of golden handcuffs!

I would leave this company in a New York minute if offered a VTP!!! The ATT Titanic is on a collision course with destiny and it's not gonna be pretty. I had to deal with a billing issue on my cell service and the rep told me she was in the Philippines...shocking, not really, but it was disturbing to hear as an employee!

“If you’re not 55 or have 30 years there is a penalty. 20 and 56 sure your eligible but the penalty is pretty big”
Scratch the second part 56 your good 54 with under 30 years is a big penalty on lump sum.

Gimme 2 years pay, severance, and unused vacation, then I'm gone.

It would have to be an enormous package, even bigger than the one I have now. Like a baby’s arm holding an apple.

I’m 3 years, 7 months from age 50 (SBC legacy) - I would want full pension before I leave otherwise I’m leaving 500K on the table if I leave before 50 (23+ years of service)

I'd leave in a second with the current severance package.
