Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

PTO vs In-office Mandate

So if I’ve been coming in regularly but I go on vacations, logging 3+ days PTO in Workday in more than 2 out of 6 consecutive weeks, will I be punished?

I’m simply asking if the bank is essentially imposing blackout dates for the PTO they encourage us to use, since I read so much about how We CaRe AbOuT yOuR MeNtAl HeAlTh

Unfortunately, vacation days are also accounted as a bad week for the 4/6 rule. I know few folks received non-compliance calls for not having 4 good weeks out of the last 6 weeks. Theh were out of office for 3 weeks. You can explain that if you receive call/email. Bad swipe report has no correlation with network logs or approved leave in workday

Leaders are advising teams that if they are off on an in office day that they are required to make up days to ensure that they have 3 in office days
This is not in a situation where you have 5 days Vacation in the same week
For example, you take off Wednesday for a sick day or doctors appointment... they are requiring that day to be made up by working in office on one of the at home days.
This is ridiculous on every level.

Approved time off in workday is factored in

You will not get in trouble. Someone might reach out to you, but you will be able to speak to it-I was on vaca as opposed to I was being defiant and refusing to come into the office.

You should be able to use your vacation time without fear of reprimand for in office days etc.
You should not be penalized because holidays fall on in office days
Again, you should not be penalized for using benefits and vacation that were awarded within your offer compensation package or earned with tenure.
There is going to be litigation behind this that lasts for at least a couple of years
Legislation is always reactive and not proactive
Your voice matters now.
Start speaking to your local representatives
Start talking to lawyers.
Heck, you can even engage the white board lady Katie Porter.
If you dont like it, be a part of the solution

They aren't checking Workday because there isn't an infinite staff for this. A lot of substandard policy comes about because it's all the administrators can handle.

I believe the weeks in workday would be counted as compliant so you should be fine if you have 3 weeks

This is a load of BS since they are monitoring how many days we're in the office and badge swaps why aren't they checking Workday before sending out these "compliance" emails? Doesn't make sense at all

I am out for 2 weeks in december, does that mean I will be showing up on the list. CRAZY, if I do and much more crazy when I will have to say, I comply.

I've been going 3 days a week, not just to swipe but staying till 5.

I agree that legally you cannot get reprimanded for using your benefits, but having to respond to a email stating that you will be compliant going forward, when vacation/sick/holiday rendered you out of compliance of the 3 days in the office policy for 2 weeks in a reporting period = reprimanded.

No, legally you cannot be reprimanded for using PTO benefits.

If you haven’t noticed already the bank will twist the words that make them look good in every limelight. This cascades down to senior management and etc. I feel bad for the employees who still are going the extra mile when basically management just thinks of you as a pawn and not a human being.

Think about this for a moment. Imagine everyone is actually an A+. That is the goal of the firm. But when it comes to shelling out the peanuts even if everyone in this firm were an A+ relative to other employees at other companies. You ain’t getting your 2 cents cause that 2 cents is rewarded for upper management (who had nothing to do with it bc they were too busy eating caviar at their annual fireside chat. THINK ABOUT IT. HOW DOES EVERYONE (ie 98%)KEEP GETTING PAID FLAT TO BONUS REDUCTION?

That’s for them to know and you to find out. Reminds me of a tax joke I heard.

IRS: You owe us money.
Me: How much?
IRS: You have to figure it out.
Me: I just pay what I want?
IRS: Ha, nope. We know exactly how much you owe. But you have to guess that number too.
Me: What if I get it wrong?
IRS: You go to jail.
