Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Last day is 12/15, got surplussed

Where are people moving their cell service to. I like Cricket and Metro PCS plans and offers and hear their Networks have better coverage and higher speeds. Thoughts? They sure are cheaper than our employee plans.

Took the whole family to T-Mobile. Best decision ever. Cheaper than AT&T employee plan.

Consumer Cellular. Att Network for much less. No tablets though but I don't need that.

I was surplussed in July. At AT&T I was at a dead end position with no hope of advancement. I am now working for another company, making the same pay, doing less work, and under less stress. I am working with more modern equipment, and systems. My skill set has doubled since I left AT&T. I am much better off now. Best of all no talk of layoffs.

Where is the loyalty after all these years?

Why would anyone want any AT&T service at all??? I cancelled all my services and told my family too to cancel those ba----ds. I went with Verizon, their biggest competitor. Sorry you got laid off but it will get better.....best thing that happened to me. Remember there is life after this company.

The employee discount is worse than I can get at T-mobile.

Cool story bro!

I got laid off too, but I didn't move my service anywhere. It's one thing to be upset, but in some cases we have to be realistic. If there are cheaper options, and they work well in your area, it makes sense. For us, AT&T is the most reliable carrier where I live, so for now at least, I kept our plan here.

Get cable internet and Spectrum mobile. Gives you great Verizon network coverage, unlimites talk text and data for a flat $30/month, taxes included.

Tell me again why AT&T can't use it technology to tell me how much my monthly bill will be when I'm in the store?

I don't even use AT&T service as an employee. The employee discount is worse than I can get at T-mobile. And I especially wouldn't sign up now and risk being axed with a contract that being laid doesn't let you break.

It’s surprising to hear your last day is 12/15 and you are being given a notice if 4 weeks. Is th his due to Thanksgiving? The recent standard has been 2 weeks.

Just saw the number 1 cell provider Verizon's commercial for 4 free iPhone 15's with bill credits and $25 per line.

I'm sure T-Mobile, the number 2 cell provider has something similar. My plan is $116/mo with taxes for 4 lines, all with free iPhones after I got laid off.

#3 provider ATT has basically nothing,

I canceled all phone services because I had to talk on the phone too much for 40 years as an operator and rep

I'm going to stick with AT&T postpaid to support my former co-workers. AT&T has provided me a good living.

Going with CB radio, everyone is within reach that I communicate with. Back it up with long range walkie talkies. Very cheap, no monthly expense. Bonus is listening to Truck Drivers for entertainment.

"I'm going to Visible. All of my family who are with them say it's very good."

  • Visible is Verizon, just so ya know.

And the OP- I believe it's just the same guy that gets the weird kick out of periodically pretending he doesn't know that Cricket is the AT&T network, to see how many people he can get pointing it out to him.

Maybe not the place if you are disgruntled, but Cricket plans are pretty good. Still comes with Max.
