Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

ARE WE HEADING IN THE DIRECTION OF BEING REQUIRED TO BE AT OUR ASSIGNED OFFICE LOCATION AND NO MORE FREE FOR SWIPING BADGES AT OTHER LOCATIONS?

I know your required in the office days count as long as your badge is swiped at a BOA facility. However, I am hearing talk about the bank is looking at also monitoring whether an employee has swiped their badge at their "Assigned"location as indicated in Corporate directory/Workday. So if you are required to be in the office for at least 3 days and you're going into the office at your non assigned office bldg for 2 days out of the 3 required days, that may register as being NON COMPLIANT with the workplace excellence. The reason the bank may start looking into it because alot of work spaces are not being used as assigned and there have been an increase of people getting access to buildings that shouldn't have permanent access and only visitor access for not having an assigned seating at the building the bank is paying for their space at. This is a bit going to the extreme of control and monitoring. Has anyone else heard of this and know is this true or just a rumor?

It's okay. We're all about to be laid off anyway!

Everyone that is not actually client facing can work from home
It was proven during the lockdowns
You can still be part of a large team and collaborate from home you don't have to be on-site for that.
Everyone is technically both an individual contributor and part of a team.
Everyone works for the shareholders.

I used to work from home all the time before Covid- my immediate manager did as well- the rest of our team worked at different sites so it wasn’t a biggie. This cr-p is annoying. My job gets done-efficiently! I get it if you’re on a large onsite team that thrives from working together- but many of us are individual contributors at a site and they need to chill out.

Yeah, symbolic language is difficult, maybe doesn't mean quite what it says. (hint)

Re @2ham+1pIWmZsu Managers being dense is a constant theme here.

For years the job was to be at your desk and do whatever the leader says. Then for a while the location didn't matter, it was all about tasks, and if you could get them done, it didn't matter where. And now the job has been redefined again to consist of being at an assigned location and take orders.

Not sure if the parameters have changed. I know someone that was on one of the first reports. The reason why he hadn't swiped at his assigned location was because he was traveling to other sites and also attended an offsite.

@hoz+1pIWmZsu....Not the actual assigned seat, the actual building that you're supposed to be working at for which the bank is paying for you to work from regardless if you have a workstation assigned to you or the open modernization floor plan layout.

That seems like a sensible approach by the Bank.
