Thread regarding Ford layoffs

My year end review might be bad; what options do I have?

Should I expect to be canned in January?

Crikey @1owg+1pIZol2E I wish I hadn’t seen move at F, but alas it is common and I have seen it up close. Most of the LL5 are in constant fear of getting marginalized and are constantly on the political offensive. It makes F sense when you realize the LL5 have zero practical skills and knowledge of the areas they are managing.

The only person out of my entire old section of 12 people that didn’t get whacked was a female with best pair of fake ta-tas I’ve ever seen. She always wore a low cut top for 1x1s. How sad is that. Couldn’t even find a diameter on print. This is the “skill-set” that is making Ford such a leader in the industry @@

Wow - if you read that out in the action movie trailer guys voice, you'd have one he-l of an action movie smash hit! That's an excellent dramatization (with undertones of truth unfortunately)!

@ ozm you’d be wrong about managers not caring about reviews. It is one of their primary tools to secure and hang on to power.

An all too frequent example. LL5 knows a reorg is coming and two of the best LL6 will be moved under a rival LL5 at EOY. LL5 gives both of those LL6 undeserved horrible reviews and puts them on the layoff candidates list. The LL5 conducts a whisper campaign with the LL4 and LL3 (with assists from his unethical LL5 and LL6 friends) Now post reorg the rival LL5 who thought they were inheriting awesome employees finds that the expertise they felt lucky to inherit are going to be cut, and post cut they have a ton of work to do with no-one to do it. The original LL5 claims the rival LL5 is incompetent as he was able to do the work, even with the two “loser” LL6 on his team. Just another day @ the toxic Ford motor Company.

The famous LL5 whisper campaign lines at Ford - it’s not what they did but how they did it /it’s not what they said but how they said it - always delivered with a knowing/conspiratorial look.

@OP get out before you actually believe that the Ford toxic culture is normal.

Sad to say, but if you have a gut feeling you'll be terminated, you're probably right. Be proactive and start looking for positions at other companies now. If / when it happens (as you suspect), at least you'll have some options and at the very least realize there really is life after ford, and most times it pays better too.

You can’t do a damn thing. It’s a cr-p shoot if they will put you on a PIP or if you will be on the next layoff list.

As much as the saying su-ks, as of now, it is what it is…

No one cares about these reviews. I'm telling you it's simply paperwork. If people actually took this sh-t seriously, the company wouldn't have quality issues it does. Don;t worry about these.
