AT&T employees aren’t the only ones tired of the excessive executive pay, lack of consequences, employee treatment and their living in a bubble. It’s the year of employee strikes from all parts of the economy. From teachers, medical, manufacturing, airlines, retail, etc… Communications is next.

Macy’s employees are going on strike, they say, they are tired of excessive executive pay, huge stock buybacks and large dividends for stockholders, while they are barely surviving. The employees have all kind of medical, wage and division of labor issues. US employees in general are dissatisfied with the globalist’s 2 tier class structure. It’s how they treat their employees, with the take it or leave it attitude and only see them as an expense or a data point to be replaced by the next lowest wage contract.

The executives think their employees are human capital until they strike and show who really is important to the business. Ask the auto manufacturers how that worked out for them, they lost hundreds of millions of dollars quickly, capitulated and even with a big win, the union employee still didn’t match the execs % compensation raises over the last several years. Without workers, everything else is null and void and skilled boots on the ground is one of the most important for AT&T.

How quickly people forget. You would think everyone figured out through the pandemic, who are the most important people for society/survival. Farmers, Truck Drivers, Medical Staff, Utilities, etc.. Telecom Techs endangered themselves and their families for the WFH crowd, general public and students internet/phones, they installed, upgraded and maintained it, so the public and WFH could stay employed and keep their company’s from going bankrupt. Communications was and is very important during a crisis.

You must have been living under a rock or a company troll. There is a migration to newer technology but the company still needs skilled techs. In case you haven’t read any news the last couple of years, bargained employees having been striking in large numbers in many different parts of the economy and won great contracts.They have clawed back some of their losses from the last decade. Same will happen here, train up for your contingency assignment or maybe you won’t need too since according to you everything is unskilled, should be a piece a cake. Bawhaaa!

If repetitious workers can get 25% raises why can’t highly skilled workers get that. We cannot be easily replaced like a guy that torques the same 4 bolts all day. CWA needs to get rid of corrupt leadership.

The union employees need to switch unions to Teamsters because they're powerful, mean business and do what they say they're gonna do. If they say it, they mean it. Sure, they have affiliations to organized crime, but that's why they accomplish their goals. Teamsters are the answer, not this fake, panzy AT&T made up union that's in bed with ATT and gets nothing done! They give away more benefits than they get. It's weak and powerless and they know it!

The West gets first shot at negotiating for a fair contract, we are ready to strike if needed. The days of going backwards are over, if the CWA won’t represent us as we suggest then they can be replaced by another Union that has strong leadership. Our standard of living has decreased a lot over the last couple of decades and the company keeps trying to combine multiple titles. Same pay but more work, area of responsibility, no training and bad work/life balance, need to keep division of labor intact.

The company needs to bring it this year with contract negotiations, bargained employees will be looking for COLA, much better 401k match (2k @yr is not cutting it), better medical insurance rates, deductible and out of pocket expenses, keeping division of labor and fair wage increases. Last time they tried to play hardball in 2019 - SE wireline, the Union had to strike for a few days with 99.9% participation because the company was negotiating in bad faith.

I wouldn’t want to see any one hurt but the company would be fooling themselves if they think the WFH for the last few years, puff pastry contingency force or small contractor workforce can backfill thousands of skilled craft positions for any length of time. Past years, they couldn’t even get past basic training without multiple injuries in the best of conditions. There were sprains, cuts, broken ankles, limbs, etc.. what do you think will happen if or when they have to perform that work daily? Pole/ladder/hook climbing, manholes/pits on damages, attics and crawl spaces just to name a few of the physical aspects. PLE videos or pdf training won’t replace years of knowledge and experience, just saying the company needs to offer a reasonable contract upfront. Nobody wants a strike but we aren’t afraid to strike if needed.

Agreed 100%, OP.

Unfortunately, salaried employees only recourse is to leave, quiet quit or get fired. I’m tired of losing my co-workers and friends because of leaderships mis-management, without any consequences for them. Those of us remaining may be retitled but it only means increasing workloads, hours, responsibilities, all for the same pay. Work/life balance is terrible, inflation has eroded wage gains along with the new RTO mandates and relocation assignments (soft layoff) without any moving reimbursement or job guarantees. We also have had major loss of benefits along with policy changes and no longer are valued but seen as an expense to be replaced as quickly as possible by rebadging, offshoring or contracted.

Though I don’t agree with everything the Union does, it’s been refreshing to see the working class rebelling against the greed and unequal treatment by corporate leadership and Wall Street. It has reached its zenith, so It’s time for the pendulum to swing back!

A lot of people with salaried jobs cannot even afford a fu--ing house and car these days. And why do we need a car ? so we can get to the fu--ing office to please pi-s-ant's like stankey. I can't wait until the bowl games this college football season where we have some dingbat at halftime touting the wonderful communist propaganda how we're achieving DEI in the workplace , building a better tomorrow, etc while everyone else here is wondering if they can afford a turkey this christmas and stankey is ja--ing off in his christmas pajamas making more videos for us.

Don’t forget the writers and actors too. Time to reel-in the out of control elite and their treatment of the employees with their hard work and dedication, generate the company profits. They need to share in the profits in a more proportional way, it’s become too unequal. The majority of profits are going to the top and Wall Street funds, who also have their representatives on the BOD so, it’s a rigged game.
