What is more important DEI, F&F.... or corporate survival?

Or is it too late?

A month ago my team and I met Farley to discuss how to get his directives in place at the lowest level. He acknowledged that most of Senior Mgmt. ideas get stuck in middle management that are legacy of other administrations (Mullaly, Field, Steel Case guy) He hinted that there will be an upper mgmt shake up starting with Chuck Gray who Farley said he asked him to leave his position. Next year many of Gray's Directors will be leaving too. Farley is no dummy, he knows Ford internal politics and who is who not delivering. He met with LL6/5/4's to get their feedback and shockingly enough Farley listened to all of us. As LL6, I agree w/him that there are many LL's not doing their job and need to go, he will streamline the hierarchy eliminating LL's and consolidating departments where GSR's will have more autonomy so a large section is not a burden for LL6's. Farley stated that Ford lost many talented people at GSR level because of inept LL's protecting themselves. He even said, that some of the people in the audience may be leaving if they do not deliver.
In person Farley is a charismatic person and indeed he is a smart cookie. I may not like many of his initiatives but at least he is aware of where the roadblocks to quality are

Having a leader with the "lost in the headlights stare", with zero technical aptitude, who has no people or leadership skills is not optimal. Even you can't dispute that.....can you?.

Having leaders from different backgrounds is how we ensure diverse viewpoints get captured and implemented in our products. This is indisputable. If we are to complete in the global mobility market, it is what we must do.

Blaming a company that is majority white male for its failures on DEI would be laughable if you all weren't serious. Everyone else is always the root of the problem, never those who are the majority. White men make up the majority of upper management, have always been represented as CEO, and carry the majority throughout the rest of the company.

Personally, I wish there were less white men making the decisions because you all su-k at it.

Ford has never made a real attempt to cultivate customer relationships outside of white men. The designs su-ks, the engineering su-ks, and the technology su-ks. Nobody else wants those white bread cars.

It is a shame to have a company so full of pure unadulterated hatred. The sooner Ford fails, the better.

2jnb+1pKrroxu Well look how good that has done since FORD 2000 1995. Those old white guys knew the customer for sure in Truck.
Since then Ford has been on a demise. Lower standards to promote people. I am not a racist or s-xist. But right now I don't care if they are green as long as they know what the he-l they are doing.
In another 5-10 years good chance the company either merges or chapter 11.

Of course F&F is always the priority @ Ford. It’s always about the LLx careers, FnF, and siphoning off money to other family ventures. DEI is just a diversion tactic from the real objective. Corporate survival not factored in to LLx decisions

DEI is too often a scapegoat for people who cannot cope with the idea that someone else might be better qualified.

Nobody cares about it accept the people who benefit from the worthless director and C-level positions it creates. Shut up and sell us vehicles. Don't talk to us about these social issues. Not your job Ford.
