We still have no actual internet in our store and run the tablets on cellular. Lots of things we cannot do and no secure connection to process transactions. Imagine this, a COR store with no wi fi. Customers ask us and we say it's down. Now would you like us to sign you up with our fiber ?

T’s plan is to keep only 1 COR store in every extended geography. All others will convert to AR, this has been the plan for the past 5 years and it will continue until it’s reached. They don’t want to pay union reps with benefits when the can achieve the same at 1/4 the cost and the same relative customer dissatisfaction and unauthorized adds.

If a store has 5 gross adds and all 5 are gross adds with insurance and up, they are successful. If a store does 1000 upgrades with no gross adds and attachments they su-k.

So stores with no customers are a growth engine?

They can't get rid of stores. They can go to AR only. The only growth possible in the industry is gross adds, and features like insurance and next up. No growth means lower stock value. Lower stock value means less money for the executives. To add the amount of gross adds they're looking for it needs to be done fraudulently. Like, "you need to add a line to qualify". Or "your phone comes with a second number." Or, "it's cheaper when you add a line." Reps in stores are adding up and insurance whether you want it or not. If you do all of your shopping online, you're not going to slam yourself with features. You're not going to add lines you don't need. T is run but under staffed chimps.

Enter a Corporate owned AT&T wireless store, exit with FRAUD on your account. It was a good run, but it couldn't last forever. Sorry boys and girls.

Good to see that AT&T is tidying up.

“ Do any customers other than senior citizens and AT&T employees even go into retail stores anymore? Most customers purchase and handle billing transactions online.”

“ There is a reason why there is limited inventory”

Question asked, question answered…..

The most surprising part of all this, is the fact that there are any COR stores left.

Interesting point. Was in a store a few months ago. 6 employees there and no customers. Came in with a phone issue and 3 people came over to help because they had nothing to do. Verizon store a block away. Didn’t stop to go in but 4 cars parked in front. Assume they were employees also. Don’t know about the back office issues or if the new IPhone increased traffic but brick and mortar stores seem to be dinosaurs.

There is a reason why there is limited inventory and infrastructure breakage. The compnay wants customers to do as much as possible online. The half-life of retail is nearly here.

because when you go to the stores. you are all sold out of the phone we are looking for. so we order it online.

Down is such a vague term. Is this down as in not able to connect or down as in showing worse performance numbers as the previous quarter?

The biggest problem is so many remaining employees aren’t stepping up to cover gaps.

This is our leaderships plan.

They literally told us all that we’re going to do less, with less resources and employees.

My position involves working with other orgs. All I hear is negativity and people regretting the fact that they didn’t retire last year. No one is happy working here. Imagine hearing someone say they like their job these days? You’d probably give them a weird look and not talk to them again because they’re obviously out of touch with reality.

The wheels are definitely going to fall off in 2024.

No more infistructure, we are a ukranian egg all looks, no actual working parts. Having no connectivity years ago would have been unheard of. And why are we still have TOBR issues, the same problem over and over and over again - you move a line for a sub and they wind up with no service. We are truly at our end. Our software is sub par at best. Upper management and the ostrich effect is the downfall.

Yelp
! Horrible! For a solid week, the wi-if to run the OPUS tablets has been down! Attcorp it’s called! Talkn about customer experience that KK thrives on and customer surveys affected! Customers are furious because of lack of products in store as well as the time it takes to make a purchase due to a very bad system!

Because we outsourced it all. Lets face it, vendors have different priorities then employees.

Well that’s what happens when you surplus 35% of operations supporting stores. People constantly mock middle management, but we keep the gears moving in the machine that allows sales to process orders. Hope stankey enjoys the losses as the systems crash around him because he picked geolocation vs job function. Freaking id--t

Are you taking about internal systems?

We keep hearing more and more people say “barely anyone can do what I do” and I’m not moving, so let’s see how this place does when I’m gone.

I’ve been curious to see how a lot of this plays out over the next year. I do think overall we are running WAY low on talent and experience. Will not be surprised to see more internal and network external level massive outages over the next year.
