When are they gonna mandate everyone to the office? No one is saying if this WFH is gonna stay. I’m in NY and would love to get back into the office.

When nothing happens on the third, then what date will it be??
oh cr-p !! RTO !! I might have to quit my other day job ..LOL management is clueless. Half of the workers have side gigs going during VZ working hours
I’ve been informed by my union representative, that on jan3, we will be told a date.
Until/unless VZ declares RTO company-wide, it sounds like you have a VP who is just really in love with your building. Poll people on teams not under your VP.
Oooohhh... looks like Votercrook doesn't want to be monitored. I wonder what he's up to
WFH should have the workspace monitored with a live cam & open mic during working hours. Pointed directly at user, turned on/off appropriately during said working hours. (like UPS drivers with their driver-facing-cameras for example)
Fair compromise. Win-win for all. After all, if you’re all so productive with WFH, you clearly have nothing to hide.
Cary worker here. Just got confirmation that “most” teams will go from 1 to 3 days a week in Jan.
There will be more Return to Office announcements on January 3rd from our overpaid leader and team. Conversations are going on to get VCG and VBG on the same page for two to three days weekly mandate with the.other groups also reviewing. The Network groups in Cary and Ashburn are ready to do three days a week in office early next year.
OP - who is stopping you from going to the office? ftard ….
Badge swipe stories/examples are true. They used the same tactics back at the end of the Worldcom days to pi-s everyone off, and use as an excuse to write people up and use the 3 strike rule and your out before they Enron'ed that place.
The other tactic was to require everyone in IT to work at one of the four major datacenters and live only a max 50 miles away. If you did not relocate to be near the DC's then you got the RIF slip back in the as well.
It's coming...these tactics are tried and true. Good luck. Hide in the shadows or scatter like roaches when the light you up with the badge in/out numbers.
Great now they are monitoring us with badge swipe reports like we are babies
Rto is in the works, Verizon is just trying to do their normal approach of figuring out the worst possible and most painful implementation. Everyone fighting rto and not adhering to their required days is just strengthening the push for more days and termination of violators. Eventually, thanks to the hold outs, our hours in and out of the building for any reason will be tracked more closely than before covid. Including reports based on badge swipes in/out (yes they will be adding badge swipe requirements to leave too) going to managers, directors, and vps for habitual offenders in every band under them. This will inhibit leaders from getting/giving any special privileges. It’s already happening in other companies for the same reasons and on its way to Verizon.
Problem with WFH or Office Workers is people spend far to much time on conference calls talking about what needs to get done while there are few people who actually get things done while listening to people "spin" the issues or interpretations of SOWs and SLAs.
Middle managers and "Leads" simply create red tape and constantly change processes into complex nightmares to create "work" instead of simply sticking to the SOW and SLA basics as written.
When I hear people on Conference Calls discussing what "needs" to be done while obviously in their cars, at a restaurant or kids screaming in the back ground as I sit in my Home Office at a desk in front of the screen like any other Office Worker doing my 9-5, it drives me nuts.
Productivity is dropping. People are nonresponsive. I’m sorry to admit it, but some people just won’t work unless their masters whips are at their backs. Return to the office is inevitable.
Go ahead and waste two hours a day commuting instead of productivity and extra family time, loser. Nobody cares about what you did for your job when you die.
VZ has dismissed contractors [H1Bs] when work a second job primarily in the Texas office but also in Tampa, Florida.
if you are assigned a building as hybrid or office based then just go. If you are work from home ask your manager to change that and then goto the building they assign you. Go all you want no one is stopping you but yourself.
lol, this is a tech who’s upset they aren’t making OT driving to their first job and back home from their last. Techs were pulling in 20 hours of OT just driving to and from work.
Get back in the office then, you’re allowed to. Why the F do you need it to be a mandate and force everyone? Just go in and sit there.
People have lacked common sense on this board for a long time.
READ the RTO guidelines - or ask you HRBP (make them earn their money as useless as they are).
nobody stopping you if you want to RTO everyday, going 7 days a week if you like and you do not need company to mandate you to do so, feel free to go to office everyday
RTO is just a matter of time while the IT execs exercise a time old tradition of RTI, return to India, vacationing, I mean holding a couple of town hall/photo ops on the companies dime.
