Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Mentally checked out , tired of dealing with the BS here

Been here for almost 2 years; was sold a lie and have just been going through the motions. Don't see a path to LL6 tbh and there is no culture/ growth here. I've tried multiple times to talk to people/ network but everyone here is closed off and dont even show up to meetings.

Seeing the layoffs recently, I know I have no future here and just want to get through each day with the least amount of effort.

I left the company last year when I was qualified for early retirement. I do miss the people that were working for me because I wanted to do more for my employees. Seeing how the company only focus on lies, blacks, and female as priority, I decided that it's time to leave Ford. I am glad i did and never a moment of regret. Best of luck to those of you who are still at Ford. Hopefully, something good will happen.

Good advice. Plain and simple- run. Run as fast as you can. Ford has been selling the same lie forever. "You are the future, our current employees haven't a clue. You will rocket to the top". I hired in over 20 years ago and we all were told the same thing. Only reason I remain is to book my retirement. The second I hit it, I'm gone. You don't have a pension, take the resume entry and better deal Ford. Don't drink anymore of the kool-aid.

Wait until you notice the clicks and the back stabbing with supervisors and LL6's, LL5's.... you will identify the the anointed ones quickly.

Feel sorry for you if you're over 50 here because they want you out!!

I've heard of people pursuing age discrimination cases....

I have to say it. The people that have been at Ford for 4 or 5+ years..you are putting a lot of faith in a 120 year old company that is struggling to find it's place in this new environment. Don't get romantic about your career at Ford. No one is going to get romantic or all feels to keep you around. Get out within the next year, and yes it's a paycheck so treat it as such to use to get to the next level. Right now, in this stretch of history, Ford is not where you go to get on the front line of your career. FCG's might have a good go for a 1st year or 2nd year but there is no future at Ford for those who want to truly innovate. The company just won't have the resources to give you to do that right now or in the next 3-5. Stay longer then that and possibly watch your badge turn to another company or no badge at all.

@OP you are you’ve only been @ Ford two years, cut your loses and move on.
Others have bought the long con and regretted hanging around Ford but feel they are trapped.
Every year they con the incoming FCGs, oh you are the future of the company, we have great plans for you, you can unseat the grey beards who are our downfall, you are what we want. Then a year or two in the astute FCGs are saying hold the phone, that was all a lie.

Also, since they lied, just sue.

If there is no evidence, it is not a problem. Usually liars don't stop until caught, so make recording on everything and once the lie is caught again, sue.

Retaliation? Sue more. Keep suing until they wave the white flag.

If the company doesn't know how to do the right thing, some lessons are overdue.

Maybe just sue as a pre-caution?
