Has anyone, who has been recently laid off, had issues with shipping back their device. This post is for those who were unable to return their devices in-person.

I wrapped it in toilet paper and put a stamp on it
“I wouldn't do it. They can come and get it. if they want me to spend an hour or two of my time packing it, driving to the UPS store, waiting in line, shipping it and then driving home, then they can pay me for it.“
They do pay you to do it. You send the stuff back on your last day of work.

Some of us worked 1000 miles from our offices. We were truly remote, for years. In the old days, we'd get a paid trip to meet up with the group every year or two (i.e annual RTO), but that went away around the time Randall took over. In my final weeks I did go into the local office that hosts a local sales operation, all people I never worked with directly, to sniff around for a lateral transfer. Guess what: no one was there.
I left during a remote work week (i.e. family was on vacation, but I worked in the hotel). At the end of it, I took the machine to the UPS store and the counter guy recognized me as an AT&T layoff not from my face but the box kit I brought in. I planned to use their little work area to pack it, but he took it from there, even taping it and labeling it for me. ('Cause, you know, i𝑓 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑐𝑎𝑛'𝑡 𝑝𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝑎 𝑏𝑜𝑥, 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑚𝑎𝑦𝑏𝑒 𝑖𝑡 𝑖𝑠 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑟𝑒𝑡𝑖𝑟𝑒.)

If you can't pack a box, then maybe it is time to retire.
I received 7 boxes to send my laptop back. What a waste of money.
Nope. I was sent a packing label and I put my laptop, phone, and id badge in a box and sent it to my boss in Dallas. I tracked the package and know it was delivered successfully
You didn’t even RTO on your last day?
They sent me one very small cardboard box for two monitors, keyboard, and Desktop. I took all the items to FedEx and had them pack and send. Luckily I still had my dept's FedEx account number on my phone.
Nope, I was sent packaging material and a label, packed it up and dropped it at UPS store.
