Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

I'm done worrying

Let them lay me off. They'll be doing me a favor. I can't imagine other companies being worse and/or having a worse and more toxic culture than Nike. If I was brave enough, I would have quit by now. Since I'm not, I realized that being laid off is the next best thing. Pay me to leave and I will do so happily.

Unless you’re in a high leadership position yourself, nothing that you will affect how the company acts.

We’ve seen managers & directors lose all agency over the last few years, we are a top-top-top down kind of company now.

Probably why the layoffs are taking so long. Shoedog himself might be the only one with the complete list and he’s personally going department by department.

Not even saying this to be mean, but how about not kissing a-s . Like every time you kiss up and lie down with your leaders you’re teaching them their behavior is acceptable. Are you afraid that standing up will result in being fired? Lay off and firing are different but they’re the same because a lot of companies now days(big ones) don’t even say you were fired they’ll typically ask are they eligible for rehire yes or no. Of course we have anomalies but most keep it short so no lawsuits. I’m not saying act crazy but having a backbone is a serious option to just lying down until you possibly get laid off. We also get pto payout fired or otherwise. That severance pay is nice but it’s like 2 weeks for every year.

My coworkers joke that they wish they were laid off, but I don’t think it’s a joke. We all hate our dum dum leaders and we will never advance. No matter how many butts we kiss, there is always someone doing it better.
