Nike quietly cuts employees in rolling layoffs, scope unclear

Nike has quietly laid off employees over the past several weeks and on Wednesday signaled plans for a broad restructuring, but it has yet to comment on the scale or reasons for the ongoing staff reductions.

HoN emailed everyone about her new org structure of about bullsh-t fair play or whatever. But I agree, nepotism at its finest. I work with a bunch of F players that have been at Nike for 20+ years that got a bit comfortable because they know so and so and that they can get away with not doing much work or bring “Nike wisdom” to the table.

There’s a reason Nike is su-king at making gear and it’s because of these people.

The entire company functions solely through nepotism and rewarding who you know and who likes you versus what you actually know. The amount of best friends, neighbors, significant others, work out partners, child baby sitter stories I’ve heard about people getting their start at Nike( in non entry level positions)while highly qualified individuals aren’t even getting call backs. Nikes problem will never get fixed, because those higher up don’t think it’s a problem
