Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford actually has a CEO bench for when Farley is finally removed!

Who knew Ford has more than one CEO in our ranks, there are two other than Farley! Of course they are ready to step up, right?

Joshua Sirefman, CEO at Ford Michigan Central
Christian Moran, CEO at Canopy

Doug Field needs to get a CEO in his title if he wants to be in the competition.

This should make everyone worried about the future of Ford sleep better at night.

@2opq is CM still traveling the world trying to figure out why F150s get stolen so easily? Or did he collect enough flyer and hotel points for his next family vacation at company expense?

@3bxh was anyone fired for this expensive, like $200 million, failure?

@2vqd Presenting symptoms include compulsive questioning of reality (‘is the search really happening?’), accompanied by acute keyboard agitation and a tendency toward existential diagnostics. Preliminary diagnosis: Severe Case of Internet-Induced Overthinking Disorder (I2OD).

Where is the accountability for the train station, the canopy failure, the loss of market share, the worst in industry quality? Blame Bill Ford and his family.

I wrote this before, and I'll write it again. the security camera idea (aka canopy) came out of a very small team at GFL. CM attended a meeting while visiting GFL, liked the idea and decided to take it forward.

@2opq - canopy came out of the catalyst program, not FLV. Maybe he sponsored it but it wasn’t his brainchild.

"CM" claims Canopy was his idea? He is delusional. Canopy is FLV's idea and project. Had he not been attacked by the media and intentionally put on leave, Canopy would be thriving. "CM" drove it into the ground and ruined it for the consumer. Total shame this happened.

If I were choosing a new CEO from the list of JF, DF, JS or CM, I would definitely hire “none of the above.”

JF has been here since 2008 and we’ve lost market share ever since and the stock is stagnant.

Doha’s been here over two years, has zero accomplishments here or at his previous two employers.

JS is in charge of the train station project which is millions over budget and years behind schedule. Why a project needs a CEO is why our costs are out of line.

CM is responsible for Canopy, claims it was his idea, and it is a complete failure. Another areas that doesn’t need its own CEO. Security is a vehicle feature, not a separate company.

None of the Above can’t be any less successful.

Farley will depart once the mass US layoffs and outsourcing are complete 1st quarter next year. There are also spin offs of unprofitable/bloated areas planned. This is the Ford pattern. The next CEO needs to have clean hands.

Odds are an external CEO will be hired,

"Farley will be going somewhere far and far away soon. "

I'll believe it when I see it!!

Next year should be interesting.

It's called a Visteon spinoff - so blatantly obvious.

Which one would you work for?
Will you have a choice?
How long before they off you the choice of a different retirement or a lump sup?

  • - How long before that retirement becomes worthless - just ask any ex-Visteon person.

How long before those spinoffs fail - months, a year' two years?
Are those spinoffs going to be able to show any type of profit?
Which shell are the finances hidden under?
Which management gets transferred to the better places?
Spinoff staff reductions will have to happen?
Will the new spinoff operate in Mexico (new global technology and business center)?

  • Will you have the choice to relocate to Mexico?
  • Will your pay still be dollar based like some of our Canadian friends?

What a great way to get rid of all this non-profitable garbage and reduce the management waste !

I'd take the golden bench studded with diamonds any day. We get the foot up the behind when we fail to the curb.

Nice to have a parachute worth millions where one lives the life of luxury due to getting canned. Amazes me how these CEO's and leaders of these companies pillage and lout the chauffeurs, then end up with enough of the treasures to start competing companies.

He may work plenty of hours and have lots of stress as compared with the staff beneath him, but at his pay scale we could have thousands of engineers, quality folks and anti-TVM initiatives to offer the customer a valuable top notch vehicle without all the bells and whistles eliminated.

Just remember a few years back, the CEO of Honda would be on the assembly line floor interacting with everyone, dressed like everyone and making 1-million, unlike our corporate pirates !

Everyone at Ford knows that the sooner DF hops to his next company, the better.

I drove by Michigan Central today and you can still see through the building, no walls inside, nowhere near ready for habitation. But has Farley done worse?
