Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

All the money that was spent on re modeling the bathrooms to "everybody" could have used jobs!

Shame on Nike leadership for millions of dollars they spent on remodeling the restrooms to Everybody! There were everybody non gender specific restrooms in every building and every floor!!!!! They already existed. Millions were spent to convert female and male restrooms into one space! I hear this from co workers that they are not all comfortable using these remodeled restrooms as you end up crossing your male colleagues while checking yourself in the mirror!!!! Shame in you Nike. I take my paycheck but put in zero work for you

  1. the everybody bathrooms are way nicer and more private than the older bathrooms
  2. I could care less about washing my hands in front of my boss. Grow up!
  3. now there’s a bathroom much closer to my desk so I spend more time working than wondering the halls of my building, so there is a productivity gain here
  4. as a trans person these bathrooms eliminate the anxiety I used to feel about going to the bathroom at work. It’s been amazing for my mental health at work and frees my mind from anxiety so I can focus on what I need to focus on. There are still male/female bathrooms on every floor. Making the campus more accessible has nothing to do with layoffs.

Oh relax with the bathrooms. Inclusivity for the LGBTQIA+ community is not the problem here. And frankly, I’d be curious what that says about your contributions to the work culture.

Yes, it's the shared crappers, not poor choices by leadership, boring product, excess spending on marketing, etc. Would love to see JD take a big pay cut to show he cares about what regular employees are dealing with.

Because those remodels you talk about, they were reverted back to being male and female.

I never understood why they made them neutral and then reverted them back but after reading these comments, kind of makes sense.

I've been told that back in the day, this was par for the course. Apparently when PK was CEO, he'd have ostentatious award ceremonies complete with fireworks and giving away BMWs to FOPs while simultaneously laying people off. Some things don't change... yuck.

@wrf Private for stalls is good but open door washing would be better. It can be triggering for anyone with a history of SA to be trapped in a restroom with the opposite s-x.

Not to mention the inventory problem because we refuse to stage materials like every other company in this industry.

Or the technical debt with duplicative systems that don’t talk to each other.

Someone needs to quit moving numbers around on the balance sheet and learn how to run a business.

OP - If you are just focused on wasteful spending, you are looking at wrong place. Global Tech through their bloated org and duplicative work in multiple orgs and global vs GEO can generate significant savings.
