The amount of complaints I’m hearing about coming to work on mondays is insane. Sorry you are being asked to work for your pay check. I truly hope a lot of these entitled people leave. There are far too many people not taking their job seriously. I know VPs are creating lists right now of people they plan to cut during the lay offs coming. It you aren’t coming to work and getting stuff done you’ll be on that list. Do you remember life before Covid? When you had to come to work? Don’t like work somewhere else.

Pretty sure the Op is one of my ex Nike managers :D
I can remember the glory days when that little guy would stop us in the hallway and demand we site all the Maxims....
One of the ivy league schools should do a psychiatric study on Nike Managers. JFC.
Don’t want me working from home, great I’ll be in the office 9-5 and then see you tomorrow. The amount of loose ends, or calls I have with global teams that force me to pop on is numerous. Don’t want me working from home in “your time” then don’t expect me to work from home on my time.
People in hybrid also have 6 AM and many times 6 PM meetings with teams across the world.
There are business teams like commercial analytics which was not remote but majority don’t show up in office since Covid started.
There is no ending the remote pilot. The remote workers have 6am meetings to enable all the offshoring.
Nike is apparently now in a “ we’re broke” mindset. Ending remote work means ending the offshore work, which means spending more.
It’s never going to happen.
This RTO mandate is an unofficial & barely legal softlayoff, with a real layoff to follow later this year. They want people to quit. That’s why HR has been flooding work social media platforms with the “Just Quit” messaging.
The way it should have gone down: End the remote pilot and bring those people back 3:2.
Later: Consider (and reject) 4:1
Better yet, let's do 4 10s.
People in remote pilot gets their home internet paid by Nike, $750 to setup home office. People in hybrid got nothing in addition to commuting to office to get on a zoom meeting with remote teams.
Why would I quit when there’s a decade’s severance on the horizon?
HR is really trying to save costs with these posts “plz just leave”
I stand with Pickles!!!!
@ocu+1paB41PC They allow it because she’s probably carrying more share of sentiment on how Nike is perceived on the outside than all our Sr leaders combined.
JD, who is going to feed my cat, Pickles, lunch on Mondays at 12 now? Huh? Who JD! Who?
THINK OF THE CATS JOHN, THE CATS!
MAYBE ILL THINK MORE ABOUT CATS AND DESIGN SOCKS FOR CATS WHILE IM IN THE OFFICE ON MONDAYS THINKING OF MY DEAR PICKLES BEING HUNGRY. THERES YOUR STUPID INNOVATION JOHN. BY MAKING PICKLES AND OTHER CATS SUFFER!! PEDA TO INVESTIGATE!
OK BOOMER
If you really think people weren’t actively working and contributing on Mondays at home, then YOU are part of the problem. There are many of us that get even more accomplished at home than in the office.
The LinkedIN activist is obnoxious. It’s insane what she posts.. “hey, look at me” .. how Nike comms allows this is beyond me. Did someone cut her a deal? Does she have inappropriate pics of somebody?. Not sure how Nike comms allows her posts because they fly in the face of everything that is bad about this place.
John Donahoe is that you??!! Not cool man..
That must be really hard. You also seem to be very bitter about someone who would probably advocate on your behalf if you needed it.
@qfk+1paB41PC That’s exactly what I said to my next company and all other companies that I was talking to. And guess what they offered me a job with a higher salary and remote option. You should probably step out of your little bubble and see how the world has changed compared to 1970s.
Re: LinkedIn activists yeah I’m a single mom. I don’t spend my day posting about what I demand of my employer or how hard it is to be a working parent. I do it all alone.. I work hard and have been promoted many times and am very happy to work for a company who gives me tons of PTO/ great benefits and is plenty flexible. Be grateful
Yeah can you imagine some of these people interviewing for their next company and they ask why they quit or were let go!? lol and then they tell them they didn’t want to go to work! Hahaha good luck
AND Zoom with people who live 2 miles away but are on the remote pilot w tended remix.
It's out of control.
And I am so sick of seeing those who are 100% remote posting pics on social media of everything they do during the day that is NOT work.
Serious. Someone on my team lives 3 miles away, is remote, and never comes in whole the entire rest of the team is not remote.
Make it fair.
Re: LinkedIn “activist”…Imagine dragging someone who loudly advocates for working parents and work life balance on a public platform putting their name on the line and owning it while you bi--h at people anonymously for being pi---d that they are being asked to drive to the office to zoom with people in other countries.
Nike offsets poor pay with what used to be great benefits and work life balance. If they don’t provide a rationale reason to come to campus and work life balance changes, the. they need to increase the pay, otherwise people will and should act with their feet. Visiting the office for an hour to have a coffee is not a rationale reason.
I work with many different functions and I can confidently say I don’t see anyone slacking just because they wfh on Mondays. What I do see is people using that day to catch up on all the work they haven’t managed to do the rest of the week because of the insanity of this meeting culture.
You must be a manager who is forced to abide by the model to set the example and/or an HR "pick-me" pet - either way, it's sad that this is the kind of cold-hearted people Nike employs
I’m not a JD fan at all but this one is on HR. The 3/2 model was never managed. No one and I mean no one go to NYHQ three days a week. How is that going to get fixed? They’ll be going from 0/5 to 4/1 bahahaha sure
Let get that LinkedIn activist on here. She’s going to have a lot to say about actually being asked to work.
OK, Boomer. Now tell us a story about how hamburgers used to cost a nickel.
It’s so crazy the divide on this. Clearly people aren’t coming in 3 days because the parking lots would look like JDI day. People ruined it.
It’s giving strong incel vibes
You’re right - I left and I have an awesome job right now letting me work from home, giving me so many learning opportunities while being able to take care of my family. Meanwhile you're being petty and a corporate a-s kisser.
I agree. Too many people are not working hard and HR makes it impossible to hold people accountable. Too bad it had to come to this.
You are the exact person I hope leaves. I bet you have a fake job you half a-s. Bye….
Get a life loser
