Nike is your baby. You are a boomer and no insult to your era. You’re trying to protect your billions of stock. Back in your day, you ruled regardless. Today is a different era; 53 years ago or so? Maybe not. Different times now. Are you too old to adjust? Where’s your innovation? I think it’s time you face reality and retire completely. You’re failing us. Tyranny is old school. Our mental health is deteriorating. Your hammer will only fail the company and every single employee. I know you are behind the 4:1 and the layoffs. You forgot the maxims of Nike. Shame on you.

nike's entire original biz plan was to make shoes in asia......

The “greatest generation”, PK included, sold this country overseas. Literally the worst generation in American history. You are book ended by people that despise you and yet your ego is so big that you were born on 2nd base thinking you hit a double.
Your parents worked their a-s off to create a manufacturing revolution and you put it in a cannon, shooting it to China. Your kids then followed your direction, getting degrees, getting loans, and graduated wondering where the jobs were?! OH you shipped them to china! But your retirement plan is good, you bought a house for 85k that’s now worth 450k… “sc--w these lazy kids and their entitlement to what we received for free!”
You people are the worst.
Thanks for absolutely blowing it and calling us lazy in the process.
What the h—l are you even talking about? I WISH Phil would take the reins back at this unrecognizable place. JD, HON, MM and a list of other undeserving VPs have turned Nike into the biggest joke in the industry.
@etq+1pb9GxEr You nailed it. I don’t even mind so much returning to the office. The problem for me is WHAT I’ll be returning to. Heads-down work that requires a lot of concentration…while 30 people around me are hooping and hollering in an open office that reminds me of a low-rent call center in India.
I remember complaining years ago that full-wall cubicles were sort of degrading. Then we got even worse short-wall cubicles. Now we don’t even have cubicles at all. Just part of a long desk. I’m certain if I stay another few years I’ll eventually be working out in the parking lot under a tarp.
The beatings will continue until morale improves. - JD to Phill. - probably.
Just more terrible planning and even worse execution from our leadership.
Like how they finally pulled together funds for home offices to wfh… 2-YEARS into Covid.
Why bother at that point? And the only storefront we could use them on was 2x more expensive than market rates.
I swear we’re going to be the next Enron.
Y’all need to calm down. They don’t even have desks for us on campus now.
Sh--s whack.
And I’m going to be less effective because they somehow found a way to make open office floorplans even worse.
@ymv, you brought up my off topic rant: Can Millennials and Gen Z people please learn what a “Boomer” is??? It isn’t “everyone older than you”.
Boomers are approximately 59 to 77 years old. Younger than 59? Not a Boomer. Older than 77? Also not a Boomer. All clear?
I’ll give the OP credit though. The “Oh the horror, I am being so badly treated, my life is ending!” drama is totally on-point for most under the age of about 40. PK is part of The Greatest Generation. You OP are part of The Softest Generation.
You’re in luck though. When you return to campus there will be plenty of “safe spaces” in the event your delicate ears encounter any perceived “micro aggressions” or someone didn’t put a “trigger warning” on the cafeteria menu.
Phil Knight is not a boomer. Calm down. Maybe take walk around the lake while you’re in the office. The sky is not falling.
Being forced to work in the office for collaboration and to innovate is NOT the problem. Stop whining you sound like an a-s.
Lol - you are either using great sarcasm or you are so incredibly soft it's embarrassing.
