This is our future

Wouldn't doubt an announcement similar beginning January 2, 2024.

I have been doing so well financially working from home. I work multiple jobs from home and I'm OK with that. I don't wanna go back to work in the office.

@qxw+1pbRJAZJ I can believe the part of people willing to take the job for less $$$. I don't believe those would be able to DO the job.

When Ford started to lay off its best paid employees (non managers, of course) and the ones with pensions, vehicle quality took a dive. That's all the proof anyone needs to see that "new" employees are not doing the job correctly.

Why? Talent won't come to Ford because "we have a Train Station" or a very nice office layout. Talent goes where the $$$ and the technical challenges are. Ford cannot offer neither of them.

Talent won't tolerate stupid managers playing office politics all day everyday. Talent won't stay in a company where job security doesn't exist and any day can be lay off day. Talent doesn't like when management hides behind slogans, repeating the stupid words from "upstairs" and avoiding to talk about the reality employees live every day.

Therefore, Ford will hire clueless college graduates, half baked engineers from 3rd world countries (shitholes) that don't even have car manufaturing experience, and maybe some local ignorants willing to go through the meatgrinder. But no talent, no experienced people. Ergo, these new hires won't be able to do the job.

Ford has digged itself into a deep hole in the ground: a letrine hole. Good luck getting out of it.

You’re gonna come into the office and like it, see ? And if you don’t, there is a line of people outside who can and will do it for less.

I’m just so over it. The company vs employee is just lame. If I want to work remote, I’ll find a job where they allow it. If the position is hybrid and I don’t find that a dealbreaker, I’ll do hybrid. The days of being in the office 5 days a week is gone. Gen Y & Z will see to that. I personally want 100% remote but no one asked for my vote.

Ford likes spending money on office building maintenance, office furniture, rent, utilities, etc. Companies that figure out how to manage workers working remotely, as many have over the past 30 years, will have a tremendous economic advantage.

Managers who think their cubicle workers are “collaborating” and not just goofing off 6 hours a day are smoking something interesting.

Talented people are leaving en masse. Ford is a dumpster disaster getting worse. Lets drive even more away. Perfect.

So get back to the office. What's the big deal? Salaried have been at the plants all along.
