Thread regarding Ford layoffs

F-150 Lightning production shutdown to last 5 weeks, Ford says

https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/ford/2023/03/02/ford-f-150-lightning-production-shutdown/69963642007/

There is no demand for this EV truck. The battery plant that supply Ford with batteries shuts down and laid off employees. The ford plant that assembled the batteries shutdown and laid off employees. The Lightning assembly has been shut down for 5 weeks to repair every Lightning Ford made since launch.

Bankruptcy is on the way.

I love in a rural town. Ford dealer here has 4 Lightnings in stock right now. You just have to walk in and buy one.

No one wants these overhyped electric go-karts!

Several (over 10) mach-es in stock too.

😂

Anyone that couldn't predict this is a mo--n.

This is a 7 month old article. Everyone on here is such a ranting echo chamber hater making misinformed claims like this. If you downvote then you prove my point.

@trm+1pdZb7pd I'm willing to bet you a pay check that doug field will not be here in 2025 before he sees the next BEV goes into production... he's a failure to tesla and had to take a mental leave of absent and quit during the model 3 launch.. he can't handle the stress.

I would not let the under performing Lightning get you down. It was not a legit Model e product under Doug Field's lead. With that, Project T3 (Lighting replacement) on the other hand will take the BEV scene by storm and render all the competition to second place. This will be 100% Model e. JF talked about it briefly earlier this year (go look for the news spots yourself). It is going to be great!

No problem, nobody wants to buy them anyway.

Thanks model e team. Who is responsible for the failed volume projection and investment for in-house battery capacity. Whose heads will roll for this?

That plant is making 2 trucks per hour and they can't even sell them. Do you think Ford will keep that plant open for the next few years?
