Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

What is Verizon’s future

Stock has been declining for 5 years and work is drying up . Maybe a management reduction bumps stock a little but doubt it . Would love an offer , but that really doesn’t make up for loss in 401k and pension loss . Hans needs to go .

Discussed large institutional investors, social governance, yet missing is corporate governance and unfortunately the individual stock investor is always at peril.

So its the understanding that with each declared dividend increase the share price will go slightly lowered. But if the corporate dividend is slashed the VZ share price will be cut dramatically like 50% lower.

Verizon is for the stock holders. Which currently a large institutional investor has one of their board members overseeing the company as CEO currently, aka Hanzi. Rest assured any monetary decision we have made has been in the name of our 'stock holders' or our institutional investors who hold the largest portion. Verizon may not always have been there to make them money, but now we are with a CEO positioned on their board. Why do you think there is a yearly dividend increase that ultimately lowers our stock's pricing because of the money we pay into it. They have us right where they want us because they are making money either way. With a yearly dividend increase our stock price won't see the light of day any time soon for normal investors since our stock will go down each dividend increase we make. Albeit us being over 40% lower than our previous stock high.

Oh lets also talk about our social governance, when we take away American jobs and send them over to India where all the scam call centers are. We will definitely make progress there. Oh but look we give this much money to schools. But we fire their parents who are paying the schools to educate them. Yes Verlieson, your social governance is so great. You figured out how to sc--w American workers and the students to boot. Also you figured out how to make money for your largest investor. Scam central it seems.

Back in 1999 it was a less challenging environment. Must have been Bell Atlantic and not yet the consummation of Verizon.

There was a time before the NYNEX merger that the Bell Atlantic stock was $66/share when a cross-Atlantic merger was being floated with British Telecom and then the Bell Atlantic CEO Raymond Smith.

Actually, the stock high was back in Oct 1999 24 yrs ago.
4 years ago, it finally took another stab at it again, before the Hans effect went into full swing. And things are unlikely to improve until he is gone.

The CEO and all the EVPs/SVPs need to work 8-hours minimum, at the retail stores, varying at the hottest locations, on a monthly basis -- and submit pictures helping customers.

There needs to be an "Independent" Chairman of the Board of Directors or embark effectively to hiring a new CEO --- cannot have duplicity, the same individual, for both of the top-most corporate positions.

So far the draw has been a walk, watching party, or donations drive for RTO. I don’t thijk more of that’ll save the company.

@zqv+1pdmzhh9 is why the stock is down!

Use your own money for your social justice jousts!

Enough! Focus on delivering good products and have faith in people making decisions for themselves.

Get these people out of here or the company is done!!!

What a crock! It’s what scared people say when they want something that others don’t.

Vestberg recently honored to receive an award on behalf of Verizon from the World Childhood Foundation, which does great work to combat the abuse and exploitation of children around the world. As a leader in technology and telecommunications, we have to create a safe digital environment for children, which is why Verizon has invested in education and digital skills and introduced products that really matter to children and parents to help protect children online.

Sharing my remarks from last night’s event:

At Verizon we share in the belief that every child has the right to safe and secure early years and we are so proud to be a part of The Foundation’s work over the last 6 years to protect children from abuse and exploitation before it begins.

Personally, I’ve been committed for a long time and it has been a true privilege to have served on the Board of this amazing organization and to see it continue to grow. As a leader in technology that connects billions of people every day, we think carefully about creating a safe environment for children to learn and thrive online in today’s digital world.

And we believe in action. In 2020 and 2021 Verizon launched a holistic Child Rights Impact assessment of the core of our business with the objective of informing and supporting the work in identifying, preventing and mitigating risks to child rights across our business operations both for current and emerging technologies.

From this assessment, we are now laser focused on 3 key areas:
● Digital access, inclusion and skills
● Digital child safety
● And product design

And we’re proud to report that as an outcome of this work, World Childhood has benchmarked us in the top decile of companies in childhood online protection.

For our customer-facing efforts, we created the Verizon Smart Family Application, a plan that serves as a digital parenting partner to give parents and guardians the tools needed to create a kid friendly online experience.

We’ve also been long invested in digital education. We have given well over $1 billion over the last 10 years to lift up children, their education and ability to prosper in society.

Through Verizon Innovative Learning we’ve provided digital skills training to 3.5 million students across the country, which sets them up to participate in the digital economy of today and tomorrow, in a safe
way.

Our commitment to World Childhood is another component of our commitment to allow every child to live free of the burdens that compromise their ability to thrive.

As a lifelong optimist of the power of technology and innovation, I believe that with the help of organizations like The World Childhood Foundation, we can usher in the next wave of innovation while ensuring our kids have the childhood they deserve. The 21st Century’s infrastructure is mobility, broadband, and cloud. Everyone has an equal right to participate in the world organizations like Verizon are working to build.

A clean sweep at the top is in order. Hans is not a leader and has nothing but reduce the stock price to historic lows. Engagement is low and morale is low...Instead of riffing the people that do the work, Hans should be shown the door before it is too late...

Everyone union, non union, gotta get back to the office and completely focus on making this company great again. It’s the only option we got. It’ll also be a way to rid the company of employees who don’t wanna give 100%..

This time of year is always slow. Funny how this comes up whenever it’s traditionally slow here.
